What an addition that would be. Current Dutch international, world cup finalist. Does'nt sort out our goal scoring issue but wow.
QPR are making plans for Nigel De Jong Published 22:30 13/12/11 By Football Spy QPR's Neil Warnock has launched an ambitious bid to sign Manchester City outcast Nigel De Jong on loan. The Rangers boss is ready to tempt Roberto Mancini with an offer to bring the Netherlands international midfielder to Loftus Road for the rest of the season. De Jong is on a list of targets for the January transfer window compiled by the Premier League new boys, who want his help in avoiding an instant return to the Championship. The 26-year-old has not started a Premier League game for City since November, but did appear as a substitute in the defeat at Chelsea on Monday. De Jong's City contract expires at the end of next season and wants the club to offer him a new deal. But he has struggled to battle his way into Mancini’s starting XI, and Warnock will make an audacious attempt to land him when the window opens next month. Warnock will be backed with substantial funds by chairman Tony Fernandes, as he also seeks a new striker and another centre-half . He said: “The board know we need some more players and they have been very supportive. We are on the lookout for four or five. “I’m not saying they’re all going to be big-name signings, but we need numbers in the squad.” iReader http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...oan-for-rest-of-the-season-article842558.html
Personally dont think it will happen as Toure is off to the african cup in Jan. Funny thing is northy i posted something similar about Barton a few months back and you responded with the same thing, look what happened there... Will be linked with every available player mind you between now and 31st jan, sit back and enjoy the ride i say.
Why is it that when any good player cannot get in a first team or is subbed for a week he is linked with us?
He'd be a great signing although TF will need extremely deep pockets to pay for the disciplinary fines.
Yes on a loan with an option to buy. Give him 15 games and see what happens. Better than what we already have in the middle.
The bloke played in the World Cup final last summer and was a key part of City's team last season. If there was any way of getting him we should and worry about who has to be dropped later.
He could be Adel's new bodyguard on the pitch. The opposition would not be kicking Adel up and down the pitch with a team-mate like de Jong.
