http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03fmskp With a big smile on his face. What a very articulate man. He our man guys. SL if this comes of you mean business.
I have been listening as well. I thought he spoke very well and intelligently and was very respectful when told that Bristol City fans were bombarding 5Live about our vacancy. He also spoke about having to have total commitment from the owner wherever he manages. If indeed we have been in touch, if you wanted to, you could take that as a coded message to say that we would have to get our cheque book out...! Anyway, he seemed pretty humble and certainly exhibited no nutter tendencies. That said, he was a hard bastard defender in his time and there is that element of steel in his gaze, I certainly wouldn't want to argue with him as a player... All in all, proven and experienced championship manager with some premier league time as well so I for one would be very happy for him to manage our club if he were so inclined...
The right new manager will make a difference, mark my words, and I think he fits the bill as a no nonsense kind of guy.
Thought you were giving up? "What a sorry mess has been created, and my time is up to continue supporting... Adios amigos"
Mike if he came,it would set us up to go forward with the new stadium. SL has spent a fortune on the refit, lets put a manager in place to take us forward that has worn the t shirt and got the rewards.
Hi Brizzle fans. please log in to view this image Don't let ostrichgate and his other controversies fool you into thinking bad of our Nigel. His approach to the game is all about the bigger picture: Finding players who not only have enough talent to push the club forwards but who also have the right attitude in the dressing room; focusing on sports science to ensure those players are always as close to peak condition as possible; above all have the right structure in place in terms of backroom staff and a chairman who is willingly to let him get on with what's necessary to build and improve. By all reasonable accounts he's an absolute top bloke behind closed doors too. The majority of the media did what they could to demonise him because he's a principled man who won't stand for inane lines of questioning from them which in turn means they'll happily put a negative spin on events like him not willingly taking abuse from absoute cvnts in the stand who don't understand what a good thing they have. Look around a bit though and you'll see that when an interviewer shows a bit of respect in their approach to him that he'll happily respond in kind with proper answers. He's unfortunate that the battle against tabloid media is a futile one. All in all you should be honoured to just be linked with the man, not because I'm a Billy big bollocks but because I've seen how he turned us around from our lowest ever position, completely transforming the mentality at the club in the process. It's out of praise for him rather than contempt for Bristol when I say that in all seriousness he should be attracting larger clubs. If he does rock up in Bristol you'll certainly stay up this season and probably be playoff contenders the next, and If Lansdown doesn't **** the bed over failed playoff campaigns between then and 5 years from now you will most certainly be gracing the Prem. If you can tempt him. -------------------------------
I'm starting to warm to the idea of Pearson I sit a few seats away from SL so will keep my eyes peeled this afternoon for "visitors"
Would be a great acquisition to any championship club imo, just don't take our backroom staff Think he'd steady the ship and slowly send you in the right direction with players giving 100%
Agreed, but in my 40+ years experience as a City fan I can't see the board doing the right thing. Sorry.
The Leicester fans are very disbarraging of us as a club on their board. I would hope if we had one lucky half season in the Premiership ( and by lucky I mean that almost all of the top clubs massively under perform) we may be more humble, Leicester fans would do well to remember it was not very long ago at all that they were in a very similar predicament to us.
