Read a rumour that NP is going to be paid off this week and NA is going to be his immediate replacement - the reason for it happening so soon is that Reading are close to signing NA. Was in the Mirror so should eb taken with a pinch of salt but still...
Ha Ha, you're all ****ting it now and you laughed at us when you got boring Nigel coming back to you, from us! How the tables have turned eh? We're the ones laughing at you now! Stevie Bruce's Black & Amber Army!!! Up THE TIGERS... bye bye Leicester! Hah ha.
You do realise we are still in a very good position dont you. We havent all of a sudden been throw in a relegation battle
.. fill your boots TinPotTiger ... but you should perhaps have held your sides in until anything has actually been decided .. we have a very good goal difference and, of the sides around us, only Forest are 'on a roll' ...
Exactly. If we finish tenth and Hull finish third but lose in the play-offs, then we'll have both thrown away an excellent chance of promotion. Who finishes highest is irrelevant, promotion is the only thing that matters, so WAY too early to be crowing yet.
I've read recently that Yourselves, Leeds & Reading are apparently all in discussions with Adkins It seems that the silly season is well and truly in full swing and the media are falling over themselves on the Nigel Adkins saga. I think it would be unfair on Pearson but managers on better runs have fallen by the wayside so nothing would surprise anyone anymore so it'll be very interesting to see what happens to him. Personally I like Adkins so for that reason wouldn't want to see him at Leeds but like I said it would be harsh on Pearson. But I doubt Adkins will have to wait until the end of the season before he's offered a new job, it's just a case of who flinches first.
Can Adkins even take a job at this moment in time, he's in the process off taking Saints to court isn't he.
Don't think being in dispute with a former employer that gave you the sack can inhibit you taking up a new job ... the 'rumour' is on Ceefax although it does credit the 'story' to The Mirror ... so really none the wiser as to whether it has any legs ... Adkins is not hugely well known outside of UK domestic footie circles and my own inkling is that, if they were looking for a change right now, our Thai owners might be more tempted by Di Canio or Di Matteo who they are likely to know far more about - not suggesting that either would necessarily be interested in taking the job, by the way, before I get swamped with accusations of arrogance - but if you are going to change at this late stage you would really need someone that would cause a tornado on arrival ... Adkins, whilst competent no doubt, is more of a beer fart in terms of climatic comparison ....
Whether its true or not, i would rather stick with Nigel, look at NW at Leeds, just because they've had promotion before doesn't mean that its a given that they will do it again.
Exactly. Its clear to anyone too see what Nigel is building here will achieve promotion. Whether thats this season or next Back him and he will get us there. I would give him until Christmas before we even thought of changing the manager
Proud - the problem - which many of the opposing fans that come on our board are all to ready to point out is, that with the amounts of money that our owners have invested (more in wages than in transfer fees) the expectation was that promotion would be this, not next, season - and that not being in the play-offs at the very least, after that investment (and that is the big fear now), is a distinct under achievement ... At this point, whilst we may have to grit our teeth in admitting it - every team above us has, at this point, out performed us with (at least on the face of it) less investment ... our owners have some right to be a bit miffed ... they might have expected Wolves, Bolton and Blackburn to be above us given the parachute payments but they would not have expected 5 other teams to have done it ... that then is not about investment - it's about management ...
