I am gutted for him and for Southampton fans. A terrible decision. And I would have been delighted to have had him at City, but of course happy with Sean O'Bristol.

It shows how faithful and patient the City board were with DMc.

Nothing surprises me in football anymore, the great game we all love has been taken over by rich owners who know nothing about our beautiful game.
    What a Joke..

Appalling decision! Southhampton have over the last two months shown that they are adapting to the Prem and to get a draw at Chelsea and be sacked two days later mirrors SOD / Forest / 4-2 v Leeds / SACK.

Is there no integrity in owners any more? Makes SL look like a saint!

Terrible decision. You can't make it up.

PS - I'll bet Harry wished he hadn't taken the QPR job.

If you would have offered Southampton fans their 16th in the Premier League at the start of the season they would have bit your arm off.

Awful decision, and one that most of football wants to be their downfall.

And the English media wonder why Pep chose Germany...

He hasn't got the longest CV yet, but did a good job at Scunthorpe and a fantastic job at Southampton. As happy as I was with the appointment of Sean O' Driscoll, I do believe that had this happened a week ago, then Adkins would have been both the bookies' and fans' favourite...

I know you did well for us yesterday but today you failed so we are left with no option but to send you off on your bike.

Get rid of foreign owners who are constantly making bad decisions by sacking good managers. They are destroying the integrity of the English game so my advice to them is to be off to where you came from, and leave our game in our hands because it was successful when it was always that way.

Thanks for the support, but don't start blaming this on foreigners. That's a cop out.

So good you posted it twice huh?

It ranks alongside Di Matteo at Chelsea, and of course our own SoD at Forest. And maybe even Hodgson at Liverpool.

Adkins will definately get the next job that comes up in the Championship. In fact, I bet someone will get the chop just so they can put him in place. I reckon Sheff Wed, Birmingham or Leeds in that order. Might even go and get some money on Sheff Wednesday right now.

    Pathetic and bewildering decision.

I hope the club take a nosedive under the new manager to prove what a mistake they are making-

Crazy decision - the guy can't even speak English

Adkins is a good guy as well as being a good manager - he will walk back into a job

    Adkins' win percentage @ Southampton - 54%+ !!
Shameful decision. They were playing good football and finding
their feet in the Premier League.

Back to back promotions,3rd tier to the Premier in 2 seasons, only 2 defeats in the last 10 games (if Talksport are right),15th position currenty in the Premier, any of us would give our back teeth for our managers to have achieved that..

What an absolutely stupid and crappy decision,it no wonder the Saints fans are pissed off..
