Nigel talks about early career as a player, development into management, and his time at Southampton so far, some good quotes in there and an interesting little chat. Starts at about 1:25 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01dcmbf/Today_10_04_2012/ DTLW
Predictably superb attitude from Nigel. He wouldn't even consider life after the next game, let alone the next season. Nice find, DTLW. Are you a regular Today programme listener..?
Nothing wrong with Radio 4 - better than 1 and 2 - if you want classical music; Classic FM is better than 3. IMHO: overall, Radio 4 is the best national radio channel put out by the BBC.
A lot of it is pretty dry, but some of the lighter programs and comedy aren't bad. 1 and 2 aren't great in the daytime with annoying DJs and repetitive playlists.
I do. They can remove the rest of the BBC, if they must, as long as I can keep Radio 4. It's the jewel in the BBC crown. Actually, Radio 5's not bad either. Oh and Solent for their match commentaries. That's it, no more. Take the rest of the entire TV and Radio media away, I don't need it. iPlayer is quite nice though.
Radio 4 is good for driving, I usually have it on in the car. Quite like the occasional drama on a sunday afternoon coming back from soton. easy listening
Thinking man's radio, but I try not to listen to it on the way into work- I am almost depressed by the time I get in, there is so much bad news covered. But I agree with Romsey Saint. Best BBC station. Those of you saying, who listens to it? The answer is, not many 20somethings.
I do. Never up that early, though! I heard he was on it, but it wasn't included in the podcast (selected segments), so had been wanting to track it down. Thanks DTLW!
Hmmmmmm, I've never listened to Radio 4 but whenever I scan through the stations in the car, it's never playing anything I fancy. I can't stand Radio 1 in the mornings (or more to the point, I can't stand that Moyles p***k in the mornings), but I'll listen to Radio 1 any other time. Morning radio's pretty naff to be honest, although my radio alarm comes on when Chris Evans starts on Radio 2.
Wells that's me well and truly answered! Fair enough, I have never listened to radio 4 so had no clue on what they play. I still won't listen to it, but I can see it's to quite a lot of people's taste.
Oh blimey, and the World Service too..! That saved my homesickness bacon when I lived to NZ in the early 1990s. There was a time when I was living near a secluded beach, with proper south sea island palm trees, on the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula in NZ. I looked out at the Pacific Ocean and the signature tune of the World Service, Lillibullero came on the radio. It made me feel all colonial and proud..! Silly eh..? But there you go.
We do . ISIHAC , Just a minute , The unbelievable truth . The world service , TONS of good stuff on there . BUT probably not for the younger generation ......... Anyway , getting back on Subject , heard this yesterday at 7.30 , good interview .
Hang on, how do I get this interview? Was in on today's today programme? Listened at 1:25 but no Nigel. Where has he got to?
