    Hi chaps

Nothing sexual here; but instead we have been linked to Anelka in January for what is believed to be around £4 million pounds.

As if you didn't know, the 32 year old, who was top scorer for Chelsea last year (16 in all), has since struggled to get a game despite Torres' consistant failings and Drogba's lack of goals. This has resulted in an accepted transfer request from the Frenchman.

    This is just rumour admittedly:

    http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/12/03/liverpool-consider-move-to-sign-chelsea-striker-nicolas-anelka/#more-85778

Do you think this is a wise move? Do you think he would go? Chelsea fans - how would you feel about a transfer to Liverpool?

This seems to be getting mixed reactions on the above link, but personally I would take him at that value despite him being 32, simply because he can score goals and would strengthen our rather limited strike force. He could simply be a stop gap to a summer signing and could help us achieve this year's goal of Champions League football.

    Your thoughts? <ok>

Sort of irrelevant though - we were linked to him last year and he has handed in a transfer request.

I think there is a good chance he could go.

Or indeed to a team like QPR.

He will leave, that's pretty much guaranteed as his transfer request has been accepted.

Hope he doesn't come to Liverpool though.

He said he know's where he is going so I reckon he might be off to either PSG or some team from the Middle East.

He'll want one final pay day. Russia and China are offering a reported £9m a year <yikes>

    Jesus christ!

Yeah i've just read that on twitter he has stated he knows where he is going.

He said 'a club fallen on hard times'. Could that still be in reference to us?

He could he be refering to in that respect? Nottingham Forest?!!

    This <ok>

Cashing in on his last few seasons before he retires - don't blame him to be honest if he isn't getting first team football at Chelsea.

I thought it was Drogba and Alex who had transfer requests accepted?

I'd welcome him at Anfield tbh. I think he has a few decent goalscoring seasons left in him, and lets face it, if there's one area we need to improve in it is goalscoring

I agree. Worth a punt for 4 million.

I mean we paid 20 for Downing! And i'm sure Anelka wouldn't be 9 times worse than Carroll!

I was hoping he'd be part of the deal that took Torres to Chelsea last year. I think as a short term signing for a couple seasons he wouldn't be too bad but doubt we'd go in for him.

just after reading a few articles linking anelka with liverpool for 4 million and was wondering what my fellow reds thought ....would this guy be a decent signing for a few years

personally i think he should be signed ..hes quick , has played in the premiership for ages and knows where the goal is , and was doing alright before torres joined chelsea..

we are in bad need of someone to hit the net for us ...
so for me ..id sign him up...
