Does anybody think that we have a realistic chance of getting Maynard and if so for what kind of fee? He has only just returned from a 9 month lay off with a knee injury and is being valued by Bristol in the region of 5-6 Mil. The only saving grace is the fact that he only has 12 Mths left on his contract.
http://www.otib.co.uk/index.php?/topic/136844-maynard/ That's what they think. The majority seem to think anything over £3 million might be enough. If the Yak deal falls through and we don't get Maynard either I'd start to get worried. It's these kind of signings that we need to be making and they send out a message. If we can't afford them I'd start to wonder how much money we've actually got. You have to pay over the odds sometimes in this day and age. People have already said we paid £3 million for Waggy (well, I'm pretty sure it was £2 million plus add ons) so we have to show that that wasn't a one off and wthat we are serious about this. Ipswich have Chopra, West Ham are getting Nolan - the question is who are we getting that's going to say 'we are promotion contenders'?
