09/01/2014 By West London Sport QPR are battling with Nottingham Forest and Wigan for the signing of Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard, according to Talksport. It is claimed that all three clubs are keen on the 27-year-old, who has been tipped to move on loan. Meanwhile, Richie Wellens turned down a move to QPR before signing a new contract at Doncaster, the Yorkshire Post say. Having impressed for Rovers against Harry Redknappâs side, and with his short-term deal about to expire, the 33-year-old midfielder was reported to be ready to move to Loftus Road. He subsequently signed an 18-month contract at Doncaster and it is claimed he rejected a six-month deal offered by Rangers. âI had one definite other option. But I wanted an 18-month contract,â Wellens told the Post. âWhen you get to 33, people are more bothered about how old you are than what you do on the pitch. âYou speak to a lot of managers and they say: âIf you were 28, weâd sign you.ââ http://www.westlondonsport.com/feat...linked-with-cardiff-city-striker-wls-football
Hi 9's. Scored a screamer against us maybe the season before we went up as I recall. Not sure what recent form is though.
The goal he scored against us was when he played for Bristol City. I think he went to Franchise where he did well before going to Cardiff. Def a championship player rather than premiership - could be a good loan signing especially as we are short in this area
