Watched him the other day and he was looking sharp and scored 2 good goals, is he worth a punt ? Very lively and prove he can finish, can get him on the cheap as well as his contracts up at the end of the season.

Problem is he has no premiership experience so may take him a while to adjust.

Worth a punt for £3-4 million

Has always been my first choice striker in the championship if i could choose, even when Shane Long played there.

If his contract is up that's fantastic news as Bristol City won't go up this year.

Why buy him in january? Why not make a pre contract and sign him in the summer?
But if we sign him and pay around £3 mill it gives him another 6 months to adjust.

Could be worth a punt, but he's picking up alot of injuries over the last couple of seasons.I would rather go and get Jordan Rhodes!

yeah i'd like to see him at LR, although i think £3m is a bit steep for someone who's only got 6 months left to run.

Ive always thought Maynard would fit the bill for us but really we need another striker in the mould of HH for when his legs go as we already have the nippy finisher in DJ and Bothroyd who can sort of act as both.

Maybe we shold invest in the future with a youngster who can hold it up ala HH. Who knows maybe we already have him in the shape of Troy Hewitt?

i reckon Bristol City would find it had to turn down a bid of 1 mill or even half that for a player out of contract in the summer. Maybe we could offer Dave in return?

The problem as I see it is we've all been talking about Maynard for the last 3-4 seasons, yet he's still exactly where he was when all the talk started.

So unless people believe that he could only possibly make it at QPR, then why are we still talking about him? Surely if he was that good someone would have taken a chance with him??

Defoe or Maynard? I know who I'd rather see.
