Keith Millen has today given a statement that sounds very much like one of those statements given by clubs to appease fans when they sell one of their star players. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/d-lo...says-Bristol/story-12979067-detail/story.html It uses all the textbook phrases like 'We have done everything we can'. I've no doubt though that this statement was given to alert Premier League clubs of his availability because Bristol will do everything they can to stop him coming to us because it's looking more and more likely that he'll leave. The one thing that would make this certain would be a transfer request from Nicky but I doubt he'll do that unless there is no chance of a Premier League move.
Sounds like he is admitting defeat whilst placing him in the shop window by stating that he is now back to fitness and is has scored 3 so far.
It does sound like he's admitting defeat but it also sounds like they've not yet had a bid good enough. We have submitted our final bid - does this mean they have rejected it, or are going to? Does it mean they want to negotiate the final bid? Or is he just making out that they haven't recieved that particular bid yet because he's not decided yet? I don't know what to think about this anymore, one day it looks like Sven will not take no for an answer and it seems inevitable we will get him, then others I get the feeling it won't happen. I'm also still a little concerened that he can't train properly yet - though he has played every game since he's come back without any problems.
Think this is the game they are playing (are fair to them for that). They are stating that our bid is way off the mark but we all know it isn't. Thats a message for us to increase our bid and other prem clubs to match it (if you ask me). I think NM wants to come now but it's a game of poker and its just a case of finalising the deal. The deal cuts three ways - we have to offer BC enough and also NM enough. We maybe a little light on both counts at the mo but if we banter about to Maynard's people a tempting figure he'll hand in a transfer request and then Brizzle will sell. Alternatively we up our bid to BC and they will allow us to talk to NM.
I'd agree with whats being said here. Millen looks like he might haveto sell him for the greater good, but i can see why he wouldn't want to sell him to a club in the same division. But it still seems like it could take a while either way, and im not sure "defeat" is the right word yet.
I think Maynard will leave, but it wont be to a Championship club, which has been said so many times. Leicester can not offer him prem football, he will still be playing against the same teams that he would be for Bristol City. I think he will stay at City at least till Jan, assess the situation then make his choice. Just because Leicester have made some decent signings, it does not guarantee prem football. No offence, but Leicester is a s**t hole of a place and does not have much going for it.
Although i think you could have finished your comment a sentence earlier, i do agree that he is unlikly to move to the same division unless he verbally asks for it, which, atm he isn't doing, he doesn't seem to be speaking either for or against tho tbh. I don't think that he will get anywhere near what Millen will want for him in January, so he will prob leave on a free at the end of the season.
Would you have said the same thing is a Swansea/Blackpool fan posted similar content here last season and the season before? But thansk for the good luck. Pressure is on the pre madonnas to perform.....
Oh yeah, no doubt we haveto finish top 6 minimum with the ammount we have spent. Swansea i thought would have done well anyway, and Blackpool sneaked in the back door the season before (thanks to us ) Definatly going to be a tougher year this year though, as many expect Brum and WHU to be top 2 all season, its like when WBA and Newcastle walked away with it 2 seasons back.
Its such a tough division this year. You only have to look at the quality of managers to see how big the Championship is getting. There are so many teams fighting for a top 6 finish: Card, Ips, Leic, WHU, Brum, NFor, Leed, Bpool just to name the favs! Also have the outsiders, like ourselves that could easily string a few wins together!
I don't want a lame 5 million quid player here.....let him have his quiet life in a rural backwater...sucking a piece of straw leaning on the fence, looking at the pigsty.....millen is even more deluded than their fans....as if premier clubs are beating down his door to sign a one legged yokel......
Yeah, BC, Hull, Brighton, Burnley, Reading. Any club that can hold on to a good run for a few extra games could be well up there. I think that team spirit is overlooked sometimes as well, you can tell when a team is getting on with each other well by the way they play, clubs with backroom problems (Cov), or player problems (Bullard) may struggle on the pitch.
"Pressure is on the pre madonnas to perform..... " The PRE Madonnas!! Ha ha, obviously educashun hasnt reached Bristol yet. You plum, its prima donna. PRE madonna means we are a bunch of people before (PRE) madonnas time (ie older than Madonna). As long as we're talking about the ageing pop singer, I qualify as a PRE Madonna. But I aint a prima donna, which is Italian for "first lady." Sorry Mr Bristol, if you're that thick I cant take your comments seriously.
which area of leicester in particular are you refering to? Wanlip sewage works is a s**t hole but the rest of it is set in some of the most scenic countryside in England. Also we dont need a bridge to keep the Welsh out. We have a forward looking Football club with a modern stadium and ambitions to be regularly in Europe. We have the best supported Rugby Union club ion the northern hemisphere. Leicester is the location for the national Space Centre and Bradgate Park is the most visited attraction in the country (more popular than Alton Towers and the Tower of London) I could go on but I dont want your lot rushing up the motorway to come and live here
