Great read that mate. Interesting titbits in their on the senior players pleading with Bruce to play the lad, if that's true, Mr Bruce must be sick as a parrott watching the lads progress. Also interesting that 'Bruce had little choice on signing him...', again, if true. He is a diamond is McLean, and that 350k is some of the best money ever spent. A certain SKP cost the same amount (initially), if McLean has half his impact (and he looks more than capable), we'll have a hero for many years.
i think the fact so many teams turned him down and we took him after a nightmare should make him a loyal player
Great read. I think McClean is great find he is an old fashioned winger head down & has a go a defenders something we have missed at sunderland for years.
That's what's class about him, he never loses his confidence either. If he get's blocked 9 times, he'll have a 10th go, and his delivery, even when it's not accurate, it's dangerous, if that makes sense?
aye, even if there's no-one on the end of it, he whips in balls that cause problems. with a goalscorer in the side, his service will be invaluable.
Watching him I have been impressed by how strong he is, especially for a winger. Most of them are small and tricky but he has the buikd to take a knock and still get past his man. Must be all the work in the gym. at £350K must be the premier league signing of the year, that is if you discount bosmans like Larson.
hate to say it, but signing of the season has to be ba or cabaye for them lot. mcclean has been my surprise of the season though, and an absolute bargain to boot.
