Paper talk on sky Reports on the THE PEOPLE saying Nick has sorted things out with the Allams. hope this is true.
Been told Allams and Barmby are talking again, but a compromise is yet to be met. Apparently all down to money - not sure if that is money in terms of how much compo it would cost to get rid, or down to money in the sense Nick wants guarantee's of a transfer budget... would he fall for the same stuff twice though?
The sun are saying PB is in line to replace NB wonder if they just been reading here and thinking its true haha
More that they have realised how much it could cost to get rid of him!! NB hasn't seen the Allams since the meeting on Thursday and things were still very much unresolved when it finished. It will ultimately come down to how much each side is willing to back down and how the 'backing down' situation is handled.
Always good if there is now a dialogue....I think they made it clear there would not be much cash available in the summer but would be in January if we were in a play off position....I would imagine NB is a cheaper option than other managers touted....unless compo does come into it...lets hope they kiss and make up..I guess they have the summer to work on it...
Please don't get too excited. The situation has not moved forward since last week. The fact is that Nick is only suspended at this time. Not sacked. If either party wants to resolve this they will have to meet and that is not happening until next week.Nick cannot say anything and the Allams have refused to. The end result will NOT be what WE expect, but will satisfy at least one side.
why would we want him back, both parties have fallen out with each other, get part way through the season and have to find another manager. clean break now and move on
Had it elaborated on what I was told - apparently the compromise is if Nick is willing to accept working to a smaller budget. As I said the other day, its WIN-WIN for the Allams - if Nick turns round and says he's not willing to do that, surely its grounds to get rid of him cheaper than what it would be currently? Nick obviously wants more of a budget than less, so I imagine this could rumble on for a while, which shows the Allams lack of football knowledge, as while they're pratting about, everyone else is strengthening. You can't work on a budget of freebies at the end of the transfer window!
Not sure where you are getting your info, but NB is fully aware and happy to deal mainly in loans and free transfers, that has always been the case. There are a number of targets identified which wouldnt incur a transfer fee, the only thing that would need some financial help would be on the wages. NB has not been asked to consider working with a small budget, in fact the football side hasn't even been mentioned in the 2 meetings last week.
Do you think, after the very public statement about the availability of money for for new players, indeed the desire to have expenditure on new players, that Nick will feel able, if he survives this, to actually buy a striker this Summer? To me this is the main point of what is going on. Allams clain they have made money available to get the right players in, Nick by inference in interviews, claims the opposite. Unless Nick agrees to toe the line, isn't that just going to happen again. After what the Allams have said, aren't the fans going to say "How come Nick hasn't signed any players when the Allams have given him money"?.........deja vu!
It just gets more mysterious every day. Patty and chips, you say Nick could have started with North Ferriby or the like but he didn't have that opportunity did he, you can't blame him for taking the Manager's job, it was an extremely easy and cheap option for the Allams and at that stage to bring in a completely new person might have upset things more and we would have ended up much further down the table. Nick kept some continuity going. I can't understand why when the Allams were asked in the HDM interview if Nick was suspended they didn't just say yes but we can't say anything further until we have had further talks etc . Why just say no comment.
I think this is a load of balls. There aren't specials skills required it isn't FIFA it's just how well he can build a team and get them playing, which NB has shown he can do very well in a short space of time, albeit with help from NP. I think it's tow the line Seriously though, I don't think we'll get any big signings like the Allam's want us to believe they wanted in January any time soon, but NB has said we need a striker this summer before all this kicked off so I'd expect us to get one if he stays. On the topic of that HDM interview, I only just saw the paper copy today, I love how one of the key headlines on the back page was "No comment on Barmby." How good are the Allams at talking a lot but saying nothing if "no comment" is a highlight of the interview?
