I've heard on Reddit that a few Championship sides were looking into signing Powell on a loan deal. I didn't see any team names mentioned, but he certainly fits the model of the kind of player we need. He's rock solid at this level, and it looks like he needs regular game time, something we can probably guarantee. It wouldn't surprise me if we were one of those teams, although I would've initially assumed that he'd end up at a top Championship team or at a newly-promoted Premier League team. Anyone heard anything about this?
I suggested his name a while back on OTIB only to replies that he wouldn't come to the championship on loan.... Would be a great signing imo. but he isn't a striker.... More of a CAM so he'd have to battle it out with our lukey! or maybe Cotts would go all attack and play both with Smith.
He seems to be a bit of both. He played in midfield for Man Utd on the occasions he did play, but he was mostly upfront for Wigan when they were in the Europa League and he was scoring like mad. I like the idea of him because he adds an attacking element to our midfield AND as he can act as a backup forward should we need to make a sub.
