NICK DAY ON THE RADIO Hear our stadium announcer on Radio Bristol Rovers fans may hear a familiar voice on BBC Radio Bristol from this Thursday night. Nick Day, our Matchday Stadium Announcer has started work with the radio station following a number of appearances on the daily breakfast show as well as other programs across the stationâs output. Working as a Freelance Broadcast Assistant, Nick will be alongside Trevor Fry this Thursday on the late show which is broadcast across Bristol, Somerset, Wiltshire & Gloucestershire. âItâs a great opportunity,â said Nick. âI have been reviewing the newspapers every Friday morning on the BBC Radio Bristol Breakfast Show for the last couple of years. Last year I was invited to join a fast track radio presenting course at the BBC which trained me in all aspects of radio production, from driving the desk to interviewing and editing.â Nick will start at the station on Trevorâs show, which runs every weeknight from 10pm until 1am. âItâs local radio at its very best and a great best place to âcut my teethâ,â explained Day, who has been the Man on the Mic at Rovers since 1996. âTrevor has been on local radio since Godâs Dog was a Puppy and he has a loyal band of dedicated listeners. It will be a real pleasure to work alongside someone who makes local radio seem so easy.â
Good luck to him.....I've heard him a few times on the morning show and to be honest he sounds better there than he does on matchdays! There'll never be another Keith Valle!
I remember seeing his name (there can't be another?!) in the Post a few months back. I'll choose my words carefully but he was one of a few names listed in an account of some legal proceedings against another person. Probably best not to ask...or if you know not to tell!
