For those of you who enjoy music but are looking for somthing with a bit more crunch! Years ago I only knew Nick Cave as the weird looking guy who sung a song with Kylie on an average pop track. Years later when I get bored with Morrisseys effort to produce something close to the Smith's, a friend recommended Nick Cave. The guy is the best kept secret in the music industry,he play's the piano and guitar and has been prouducing albums for 40 years. As a guide I would say you would have to over 30 to listen to his stuff as the song's he writes are creatively brilliant but are about relationships breaking down, sex, drunken bar brawls, life, to a level that has not been heard before. Download the best of and you can thank me later... At the same time I exclaimed: "****ing hell its Nick Cave!", "In the Charts!", "Singing with Kylie!". He had been releasing records for 16 years at that point.
Another Grinderman track but great. He's also done a lot with Warren Ellis. The soundtrack to The Proposition is also worth a listen.
Big fan of Nick Cave, he's written a few books as well. The Death of Bunny Monro being the best of them.
