Nice to know we're not considered minnows by the BBC

However they do consider Swindon Town (population 180,000), Burnley (81,000), Wigan (just less than 90,000),Blackburn (c120,000), Barnsley (just more than 90,000) and Blackpool (140,000) all as teams that have "overcome the odds".

Bradford City (522,000), Reading (just under 150,000) and Hull City (900,000) are categorized as promotion "surprises".

Watford's population? Just under 94,000 at last government estimate.

Well I guess that confirms what many already believe - Watford is in London...

I think it could be because of our success in the 1980's we are not such a surprise to the top tier

Well if you add Three Rivers and Hertsmere into the equation that's 300,000.
Putting us back into perspective Bournemouth's population is 400,000 (as borough council) and by the time you get to their nearest rivals, Southampton, we have to bypass every London club this side of Palarse aand Charlton.
    Just telling like it is.
