Apart from us there's not many who take a big away crowd, it'll be good to have a good atmosphere with 2000 Pompey fans coming, no doubt a bit of banter about the FA Cup/Clock etc to boot. Over 5000 away fans in 2 games.......must be a long time since that has happened !!!
Agreed Sussex - Fratton was my fav away ground. The only other to come close was SB, but I never once saw City play there, so it doesn't count. Just like NP at the time - tin sheet covered stands and a noise level bouncing around to match (to be honest, probably even more). Haven't been down there for ages now, but I bet it hasn't changed much. '83 was amazing. We got what we went for. A no score draw and we got out alive. ......
I was there in 83 about 4000 other city fans there too. Brilliant save fron Eric Steele gave us the draw but it was all a warm up to the removal of a certain clock.
Was worth going just for the greaseburgers lol, the clock match was one I didn't make it to, can't even remember why, ain't getting old a bugger lol
Could end up with Kelvin Etuhu back at cardiff... ...in a Pompy shirt! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16636768.stm
