I've just read this little snippet in todays Times.

"A young couple staying in West Sussex last weekend attended a local church service in Amberley, to the delight of the usually rather more aged congregation.Towards the end of the service, one elderly gentleman was taken ill and the couple rushed outside to call for an ambulance and stayed to make sure he was taken care of.
After approaching the pair to thank them, our reader, a fellow parishioner, notes, " In the course of the conversation I discovered they were none other than Frank Lampard, the England and Chelsea footballer and Christine Bleakley from The One Show" Ms Bleakley contacted the vicar the following day to check on the parishioners recovery, which was progressing well, thanks to their swift action.
"I for one, have revised my views on footballers" our reader added, suggesting perhaps that miracles really do happen.

Great story, though I'm sure a few bitter hammers could still put a negative twist on it!!

Lamps is a true gent. He is an icon for any kid growing up who wants to be a footballer. He plays for the badge when he does play. He loves the fans... He can't speak highly enough of us CFC fans... and he's a top bloke. Chelsea legend

Another example of Frank the gentleman. Thank his Mum and Dad, who did a great job of instilling manners and good behaviour into the young Frank. His family is very strong, and since I lived almost next door to him for 10 years, I regularly saw the whole family at Sunday lunch at a certain Chelsea pub when he was free from football. That included his cousins, etc. Wish more parents raised their kids the right way.

CP- There was a short period in my youth when I fraternised with Franks dad and his mate Harry Redknap! I still see him once in a while in the upper East stand , on his own and in the front row, and when he's there we always have a quick exchange about times past! He's a good bloke , Frank senior!
