... several reports / rumours suggesting N'Golo Kante's advisers may be talking to PSG ... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...s-rumours-gossip-Leicester-PSG-talks-contract http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/L...-set-meeting/story-29317818-detail/story.html Personally I will be gutted if the little man moves on - but I could at least understand why he might move to PSG - guaranteed honours and Champions League football for as long as he is there and back in his native France .. Whilst a circa £15m profit is not to be sniffed at we would certainly miss what he has brought to the team ... But no single player is bigger than the club ... and not long ago we were gutted at losing Cambiasso ... Hoefully he will stay with us - I'm sure the club will offer him a very attractive renewed package - and the events of this season - not least the adulation of heroes parade, can't fail to have impressed him ... Fingers crossed - but if he does go I do hope it is to PSG .. would hate to see the little man in a rival EPl shirt
Looking more likely every day. My main hope is that he is set on Arsenal and if they don't come in for him due to their new signing, he may not want to go elsewhere yet. Only hope though. Despite what he has done this season, I wouldn't be able to wish him well leaving after a year to whoever as it shows a complete lack of commitment of any kind. I left uni two years ago and was advised not to chop and change jobs every year as it looks bad so it's no different to me if a footballer does this. He's not even in his prime age wise yet so it suggests to me that he doesn't have faith in himself to carry his form on as if he did, why the rush? Surely better offers would come in next year. It seems he is proactively trying to leave whereas Mahrez for example, he may leave but I sense it would be reactive (I.e Barce or the like come in and he can't refuse) rather than letting these rumours continue without speaking out like Vardy and Mahrez do
Echo your thoughts exactly, be very disappointed if he leaves now, would like another season but if he goes to PSG it's understandable any other PL club Danny Simpson has given an interview encouraging all of the players to stay as they have created something special and to continue with it. Let's hope they listen. Danny Simpson, the voice of reason, who'd of thought it
We're a better option than PSG though, surely? PSG have Champions League football but their domestic league is poor, he's therefore going to be playing decent teams more regularly with Leicester. I don't know if that's necessarily an incentive, and footballers have many reasons for leaving, but I'd be disappointed with him if he goes to PSG as I genuinely think he could be playing for a better team.
.. have to disagree a bit ... a midfield containing Kante and Matuidi would be incredible and PSG have the purse strings to compete with Barca, Real, Bayern and any in the EPL ... I'd not be at all surprised if they won the Champions League over the next couple of years ... I'd love him to stay for the buzz that is currently Leicester City ... but equally I could see why he would leave, especially for PSG ... His advisers have been quite canny ... he would have questioned who we were before joining and they would have reassured him by getting that £20m release in the contract ... all he needed to do was really impress and, irrespective of where we finished, he would become hot property ... in fairness he more than delivered and only our incredible success has, perhaps, given him more to think about than merely using us as a one season stepping stone ... I really want him to say because I just love everything about him as a player ... but given what he has brought us, I won't be castigating him should he leave ... he would have my warm applause any time he came back.
I'd hate to see him go, but if he does, if it's not to a prem rival that softens the blow a bit. I hate the so called big teams, with flawed transfer policies , thinking they can cherry pick "smaller" clubs better players, ie Arsenal. It's still all paper talk though, Kante not suggested he wants to go.
Kante is my only worry about someone leaving us. Im hoping a new contract and will keep him for at least another year
Have to agree. he is THE most important player in your squad. His void will be impossible to fill - more than Mahrez tbh.
He's our best player by a distance IMO. I think that any side in the top 6 would have a genuine title chance next season should they sign him.
We thought the void left by Cambiasso would be impossible to fill With Inler and Amartey here we might already have a replacement but Kante would be a huge loss. Im 60-40 on him staying
If I were you, I would be 60-40 if the numbers are crazy like 50+ Million pounds. But the price being quoted is a shame for his talent. I would be 100 - 00 for the current quotes.
You play Kante, you win the midfield battle. Life is as simple as that. Im amazed that more teams arent fighting visiously over him
Thank ****!! So ****ing true. This is a simple point I am making for SOOOOO LONNNNNGGGGGGG. You play Mikel - you lose the game war not just midfield battle. You would be mad to let him go for less than obscene money. Just wish we could nick Kante even for obscene money
Yeah, this. This is by no means an insult to Danny Drinkwater (I think he's a marvellous player) but I think that if Kante was to play alongside the world's elite in terms of midfielders (like he will do for France with Pogba and Matuidi) then he'll prove how good he really is.
N'Golo Kante has spoken about his future "For now, I am happy at Leicester," "I do not pay too much attention to everything that is said. For now, I am in Leicester and I focus on the Euros."
...much prefer that to kissing the badge and protestations of 'forever' ... I do now think we will have this splendid honest and humble little player for at least another season... let's hope so. ..
I'm more than happy to put that down to someone using the literal meaning of words in a language he doesn't fully know.
... very funny now reading the Arsenal based publications ... from having already signed him they are now bleating that his ONLY public comments since we won the title are 'hardly showing commitment'
