According to Rich Cawley on his Twitter page, we are considering a bid for Bourenmouth striker Danny Ings. I've heard a few premiership and cgampionship clubs have been after him. The only thing I know about him is that he missed some sitters against us last season. Thoughts...?
PEA if Benson doesn't score more than 15 goals this season I'll eat my hat! Trust me he has goals in him and his contribution could be the difference for us this year.
I have already said that if Paul Benson is in our top three scorers this season, I will denote £25 to a charity of his choice. Either way, someone benefits. I will be more than happy if Benno proves me wrong and scores a shedload. If not, I will gladly pay up.
The Addicks have the 19-year-old forward on their wanted list but will only make a move if a loan bid for Schlupp fails. Cherries chairman Eddie Mitchell has declared it will cost £1million to land the Winchester-born forward but the South London Press understands the initial asking price is £500,000 with further add-ons. Charlton could be ready to offer Simon Francis as part of any deal.
bit too pricey for a 19 yr old in this league certaintly francis should lower the price though. wonder if he will play sat if this is true
More SLP bollocks. What makes them think Simon Francis will join Bournemouth as part of the deal, when he has already turned down a transfer to them because they could'nt match his wages. £500k is a lot of money for a nineteen year old. Palace are also reported to be after him. No more Bournemouth players please !
It does seem that this Cawley chap has little insider knowledge seeing as many of his 'tweets' seem to come after the fans know them (or put them on a forum). I think this particular rumour has no legs at all...unless he bangs a hat trick in on Saturday.
Don't think this one's going to happen in a million years - Bournemouth would be insane to let this kid go two days before the season starts - they've already lost goodness knows how many players and IMO with another season of League One football under his belt and a hatful of goals, Mr. Ings is going to be worth a hell of a lot of money. Non-starter.
Think Cawley is a Palace fan because there's a lot of emphasis on their stories. Given the choice of Inns, Schlupp, Euell and Rasiak I'd far rather sign Euell, followed in a distant second by Rasiak then Schlupp with Inns right at the bottom. £500k-£1mil is way too much for a player who hardly tore the league apart last season, plus I believe he's too similar to BWP, whereas Euell or Rasiak would presumably compliment him very well (and have no transfer fee involved).
Cawley is a CPFC fan- hence why he has a lot more sources there as they will have a lot if trust in him. That said, we've also had some good working relationships with SLP down the years. I'd be inclined to believe their stories more than any national paper (although a big fan of Ollie Holt at the mirror).
Super, as much as the extensive coverage of CPFC frustrated me, I too believe most things I read on the SLP site. I hate Sky with a passion, and find BBCSports a bit too 'official' (I.e things are only ever posted on there if they're dead cert's, and I'm a lover of a good old rumour).
Spot on. I'm worried about Taylor and Morrison, and I'm far more worried about what happens if either of them are out. Wouldn't say no to signing Ings, unlike WWOCB I'd have him and Schlupp ahead of either Rasiak or Euell, who for me are both well past their best. Bear in mind we're looking for someone who can come on and get a goal.
