The next three games are huge for us. Good results in these games would move us away from the bottom three and more us towards the top of the bottom half where we should be (I feel). What would you say is a good return from these games? Newcastle away QPR home Norwich away
I would hope for more, but, based on recent form under Adkins and Poch, we should get at least 4 points.
I'm predicting somewhere between 0 and 9. Come on, I've supported Saints too long to fall for this one. If I were a gambler I'd put a modest wager on LWW.
We have got a bigger return from our last few games than we would have thought possible a few months ago...and we could have got more points in the games against Wigan, ManU and Everton. Good to be consistent if you are consistently good (as a great man once said). We are coming out relatively unscathed from a spell of more difficult games, so I wouldn't be surprised if we get more wins now, but our previous form will keep us safely above the bottom three. So 4 from next 3 games is par for us, but could be 6+.
Newcastle is the hardest of the three I would have thought. We would be expected to beat QPR and at least draw away to the Canaries. But after Saturday, who knows anymore? I'm going to St Marys for the game against Rangers, I really want to see Harry's team get stuffed. I think the wider football world wants Rangers to fail, not just me.
Gee wiz we get a win and you would think we won the ruddy championship.... Don't get me wrong guys your euphoria is not mis-placed but some of you just need to get your feet back onto the ground. The way we are playing is great, the style we are playing is great and seems to suite the players themselves. However we still are not as clinical as we need to be, to do well in this league. Yes I believe we will survive reasonably easily although each and every game is going to be a huge challenge until we can relax a bit more and not have to worry about relegation. I repeat though we are going to have to hone our finishing a lot more and some people have got to step up to the plate and start to contribute on this front to take some pressure off our Ricky. Puncheon is doing well but Rodders is not. He is not playing badly but he has missed too many sitters and needs to get it going in my opinion. The centre midfield need to take a lot more responsibility in this area and with the new style and system, should now be able to do so. Guys this is not meant as a total criticism of the team it is meant more as the next step up and what in my opinion we all expect will happen.
Errr ummm.........This alzheimer's is worse than I thought.........I truly don't remember actually forecasting any points for the next three games........ However I will for you Fran.........From the next 3 games we will get 4 points. I think that is right.......you see I still had a finger left.....when I counted, including my thumbs. This confused me so I decided to just count the fingers on one hand which gave me 4, not including the thumb...perfect logic to me.....
9 points. There, I said it. There has been a steep improvement in the overall effort put in since MP took over, combined with a growing confidence. By the Newcastle game we should have everyone fit, except possibly Guly, and Mauricio will have the unenviable task of selecting the best team from the whole squad. I think what Beddy says should happen, is already happening, certainly Rodriguez put in a phenomenal shift on Saturday, and Cork, Schneiderlin and Davis were unbelievable in midfield. I agree we should probably have had a few more goals but you can't really complain at being gifted a couple by the champions.
Of course you never know, but i am going for 5 points from these 3 games. We have played well for quite a long time now ( the last 9 games anyway ) and so it could be more, but we seem to draw a lot of away games which is no bad thing at all but with a little more luck some these could be wins. I am more confident in away games with this Saints side than i have been for years.
We will get 9 points. Yes, I know seems reactionary opinion from us trouncing the champions but if we play like that I don't see many teams being able to handle us. As mentioned before we could have got someting out of everton/united. How long has it been since we have had a run of wins?!
It would be a good time to get consecutive wins...shame we have this break. We have been doing well but, without being in danger, we have just floated above the bottom three. With only 3 losses in 16 and being 9th in form table, we should be higher than we are.
