I'd love to think so - and judging by this article, I'm not the only one I really do expect us to cause a few surprises (as did Blackpool, and previously Hull in their first season back in the Prem) http://thisisfutbol.com/2011/06/blogs/canaries-may-just-be-the-surprise-package-ready OTBC
The absolute truth of the matter is we have nothing to lose. The achievement in getting out of league 1 was kind of what the club expected. It was always the aim of the club to get back to the championship first time. Last season however, exceeded what anybody could possibly have imagined and so even if we end up bottom and with our points total in single figures, who cares? We have 90m extra cash to where we thought we would be and we will have a squad of very good players at championship level to get us back up quickly. I don't thank that will happen, I actually think we will survive comfortably this time. Don't know why, I just feel it. There are a lot of very beatable teams in the PL now. A decent start with an early away win is very important though. we failed to record an away win last time. Something that proved to be our downfall. But, if we fail to survive, it isn't the be all end all. We will be back quickly.
like kenny says, and like Blackpool, we've little to lose. let's enjoy the ride - Fixtures out one week tomorrow!! BTW welcome to not606 Kenny!
Not only did we fail to win away but we also failed to win in our first 13 league games, something else we need to better!
Hi all, first post to this forum, so welcome all canaries. Ive been a life long Norwich fan, was born in the norfork and norwich b4 it was demolished and lived in long stratton, but have lived in pompey most of my life. Anyway, living in pompey i was a very lucky boy getting to go to the promotion game at fratton park. ended up bein one of the best nights of my life, having my best m8 telling me that no away fans had ever invaded the pitch. hahaha. i was one of the first ones on there. WHAT A NIGHT that proceeded!!!! So on topic, I think all Norwich fans should be very pleased about where we are right now (as clearly they are). I echo many of the comments that 'foggo' said. I think we are certainly capable of pulling a few 'leon mackenzie' like shocks next season and maybe underestimated by many opponant, especially at the start of the season. Im just hoping and praying that the fans dont get on the back of the team and manager when we start losing a few games, which is inevitable. Im expecting a few stars to emerge from the team (hot lips, r martin etc) but if a few of our stars struggle to perform in the prem, remember how far those players have got us. Wow, its unbelievable how happy i am right now, who the hell would have predicted we would be where we are right now, it wont sink in till kick off in the first game......lets just enjoy it.
Congratulations Mr Goss, your first post was measured and sensible, this is the forum for you sir! Welcome!
Kenny Foggo, I can't help but feel desparately excited - much more so than when Worthington gave it his best shot last time around. I really do believe we'll stay up - if only by a 96th minute goal. Bring it on
I won't settle for anything less than this: http://www.footballsite.co.uk/Statistics/LeagueTables/Season1992-93/Premier1992-93.htm Oh well, you never know. Just so happy to be there tbh. Maybe it'll sink in when the fixtures come out next week.
Haha, i wont be happy with anything else but this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5yKBT7e6vI Champions league footie next season guarenteed!!!!
Had to laugh after checking out the stats section to the side of the premier league table jeremy - first result that caught my eye was the binners loss to Fulham 10-1 lol Nothing unusual there then!!!
