Just seen a couple of tweets. Phil Hay @YEP tweeted "Paul Robinson had a muscle strain today but Warnock says he doesn't plan to sign him permanently". A fan just spoke to Alex Bruce. She said "see you next season"? His reply was "I'm sorry. I've just been told I'm not in future plans". I personally suspect that Webber won't be getting re-signed. Although he scored, he looked like his heart wasn't in it for the first time. He's always come on & ran about at the very least. Not today. Let the new season unfold .........
Gotta agree about Webber. Two points: either he picked up a slight knock (and I could not understand why he did not go off straight away of that was the case) or he was hit with the same lethargy as the rest of the team. I think he has a bit of pace, he has great ball control, more pace than the rest of our squad, and a great eye for a pass, plus just scored his first for the club. After a full pre-season, I think he could be a fantastic signing. But if it's not to be, then I sincerely hope that Warnock can get the players in. He is playing a dangerous strategy - telling 75% of our players to get a new club means he is under pressure to bring in enough new players of better calibre. I hope he can do it, cos we have failed every year to do that for the last 4 or 5.
Glad we didn't go down the Robinson route, he was far too slow and at times lacked positional sense. Jason Pearce will bring good defensive ability to the centre back position, so I'm pleased about this signing. There are a few players at Hearts I would like to see at Leeds and I understand we have been looking at a few of them over the last few weeks. I've already stated I would desperately like to see us sign Sone Aluko from Rangers (free agent in the summer) and hope we don't go down any route that brings back former players of the O'Leary era.
Have we not been looking at Templeton? Would prefer him to Aluko but agree he's a good player and we should be looking at Rangers players. If we're clever we could get some decent players from them and Hearts on the cheap.
That's my thinking. Aluko is class and would be massive at Leeds, he's quick, has excellent ball control and scores goals. Steven Davis the Rangers & Northern Ireland captain is another player I think could do us a job. He's a good ball player and again scores goals. I am aware a few EPL clubs may be after him, but he may like the idea of a Championship club trying to progress.
Snoddy was doing nowt in the 1st Division of Scotland, having been a star for my other club, Stirling Albion in the promotion winning 2006/2007 season. Snoddy has aways had the ability, but his attitude was an issue and whilst he was nothing but brilliant with Stirling Albion, he had issues with Livingston and this appeared to put other clubs off him. He was a Scotland U20 & U21 player during his time with Livingston and Celtic had shown an interest in him, but nothing came of it. It would not be far from the truth to say that Leeds found the real Snoddy and Snoddy has matured at Leeds. He's a nice guy, who likes a laugh and some banter, nothing wrong with that and he's now showing he is mature enough to handle the talent he has and what this means. Snoddy has done well in the 2nd and 3rd levels of football in England, it's not the EPL and his ability at a higher level is still in question, hence he is not always selected for the Scotland first team or squad. Sadly at 24 he now needs to make the next move in his professional development, he knows this and so does the club, however he loves Leeds United FC and knows what they have done for him and where as captain he could help them get to. He could have moved last summer to a EPL club and the Leeds board made it clear they were accepting of the fee offered, but he didn't move and perhaps now regrets this. My thoughts now are that if Warnock gets the money required to bring in the quality of players we need at Leeds United, Snoddy will stay for a extra season or so, perhaps longer if the club continue to move forward.
Shut up boab you know nothing of the Snodgrass situation as you have claimed time after time. As for the Hearts players they are nothing special & I want nothing to do with the rats jumping off the Rangers ship.
I am just sick of your so called knowledge of everything Snodgrass, you can be an entertaining poster on the forum. But you keep coming up with daft "facts" and special sources. So if your looking for an idiot might i suggest you look in the nearest mirror.
No, of course not, why not read about him, it's all out there, you will find almost word by word just what I have stated. Now if you don't like it, that's another matter.
Just to get back on track. Bruce has tweeted thanks for all the messages of support, with no denial of his leaving.
If we are talking about talent, then Stirling have another player who could be very good Scott Davidson, he will be a good striker if he is handled correctly, and the reason being I have seen him a few times this season, as boabs second team he will be able to tell you more than I can.
Thank God we're getting rid of the useless Manc clogger. Just Rachubka, Clayton, Pugh, Webber and Lonergan to shift till we're rid of the Red Rose infection within our squad. Seriously though, Webber's got to be next to leave. Totally brainless footballer.
