I'm going to keep this short and sweet because even I cant be arsed to read my jibberish so I'll spare you as much as I can.

A fight for a Champions League place isn't beyond us, but I think we should command 5th place as a minimum, infact I think we'll finish 5th.
Another 2 good domestic cup runs and atleast a quarter final in Europe. Reaching 1 final would make me happy.
I'm a firm believer that if your in it, you can win it, but maybe the next 3 seasons will lead to what I hope is the golden sky we sing about.

Only time will tell but we are work in progress. And progression will be achieved.

Anyway, back to my wine. CIAO!!

4th place, and that's what the owners will expect after investing huge amounts. If Newcastle can bloody do it with their cheap squad then no reason why we shouldn't aim for the same having spent millions more

I'm going to stick with what I say every year, domestic treble and a Europa Cup win.

People didnt expect it from Newcastle (Ipswich 2000/2001) so you'll see a decline next season when the Geordies typically boo them off after a nil nil with Villa.

I didn't say I expect us to get 4th, but I think it should be a goal, and tbh like luv said the goal should always be to win everything we play in.

As I stated prior I believe if your in it you can win it but realistically thats not going to happen. But if I end up eating humble pie I'll be sure to have a glass of bubbly with it!

I think a fresh start with a new season will do a lot for our players.

We will have a new kit, with a new manufacturer, and a new badge (yet to be confirmed), some new players, a wiser squad and plenty of reason to be positive.

Footballers are superstitious. The England team refused to wear either of the plain white or plain red kits after the last world cup because they saw it and saw failure. These things will be a boost.

We have played well many times this season, and I feel our main issues have been physiological. The break will be a giant boost for our players.

You wont get top 4. We will surge on next year as will chelsea. City and united will obviously also be up there.

That will be your top 4 <ok> Feel free to bookmark this if you like <ok>

So once again A4l is happy with no trophies and a top 4 spot for Arsenal.

Oops,i was overlooking the Emirates Cup.

Your only there at the moment cause of Van Persie, would is still yet to sign on the dotted line. Lose him and you're ****ed

For us, depending on if we buy to cover the missing areas and get abit more luck with injuries and woodwork, I would hope for top 4.

you won't surge on, you will perform exactly the same as usual. your good players will leave and get replaced with cheap French signings that turn out to duffs. spluttery start, hit a bit of form then the end of season bottle. no trophies to for an 8th year.

RVP scores alot because we play to him so much. So its kind of false to just remove his goals and say we would be nowhere. I think you will be surprised with our summer dealings and that we will kick on next year and secure top 4 again. Chelsea will certainly strengthen this summer and city and united will make up the top 4. Only a fool would not be able to see this is how it will go.

Liverpool should plan for the long term because in the short term you are too far behind to catch up imo.

To be honest I would like to see Kenny and the team show A)we can spot at least one bargain, 2)can bring in more real foreign talent(like Suarez) and 3) close the gap considerably on the top sides in terms of points! Thats all I ask to be honest.

IMO. this REALLY REALLY depends on the next 2 months activity.

    There are 3 scenarios.

    1. Remain as is. If we took the exact same squad into next year with kenny at the helm..... IMO 4th is not on in this scenario without radical improvement form several players and some youths stepping up.

    2. Keep kenny, buy players - IMO we could get 4th dpending on the players.

    3. Sack kenny, new manager, new players.... you tell me?

I honestly thing we need 6 new players here and we need to keep improving. I do not see a squad with the terrible midfield we have and lack of striking options being able to complete... I've said consistently we need 6 players and i think we need to work very hard now comolli has gone to deliver that.

He's not prolific though, more of a 2nd Striker?

I disagree, I think 3 quality players are definately needed. Of course if we have the cash then add more but for me a quality CM, Striker and RM are needed as a minimum.

I certainley think we need 6 players, not to say all world class 1st teamers but if we realistically want to improve the squad to challange for 4th, we need to sell 8/9 periphery players and replace with 6 players who want to be here, arnt injury prone and can add to the squad aswell as being talented.

I commented on a similar article with 10-12 options for the 6 positions we need to improve that wouldnt be out of our reach, i.e contracts are up in the summer or are currently on loan so forth and would reduce wages at the same time, so it can be done.
