Newcastle 4th? Seriously? I think they'll have a good season but come on, there's no need to be that negative...
I think you're being a bit negative mate. I see Sunderland finishing 9-10th. And us finishing 6th-7th.
For an utter cock normally, you've probably got this about right as things stand today. However, still 2 weeks to go yet until all transfers activity ends and we will have 2 or 3 additions which could alter our season totally.
Agreed. I think people blow our lack of depth totally out of proportion, all we need is another CB and maybe another fullback and we're totally set IMO. All you guys need is a bit more attacking quality, and maybe another creative spark, and you guys could easily secure a top 8-10th finish.
I agree, a couple of decent signings and I'd find a top ten spot for us. I hate to say it but Newcastle have got stronger and they will have Cisse from the start this time. I stand by my prediction for the time being.
We have Tiote and Ben Arfa injured though mate. I think if Steven Taylor stayed fit longer, we would have finished 3rd last season, but unfortunately, he rarely survives longer than half a season.

If you think Steven Taylor is the difference in the EPL between top 5 and top 3 you're sadly mentally unstable. You finished 5th because you played to your full capacity for a full season and all credit to you for that. However, if the elastic band is permanently stretched it will snap and it will require a Herculean effort to repeat last season given the ridiculous UEFA game a week format you will also have to contend with this year. I'd love to see us in Europe don't get me wrong but I also realise the dangers that lie there with this botched format and your squad is also only one player stronger than last term. Maybe wishful thinking on my behalf I grant you but I genuinely don't think you can repeat last years success without more numbers. Ba and Cisse were predominantly responsible for a majority of your success and Ba's last 18 or so games would be a worry for me in your shoes. 1 goal? We shall see soon enough though in the next few weeks.
Thank god for that. No point in doin the season. Who we gonna buy? It is August 2013. The fact am still breathin is a plus. x
Next season, I doubt It would make such a difference, but we were only 1-2 results away from finishing 3rd last season. If he stayed fit, I'd have no doubt we would have claimed at least another 6 pts, which would have leapfrogged us from 5th to 3rd.
I get what you're saying, however on another thread you've claimed you can't wait for the new season etc. Based on the above comment are you not concerned about your own strike force? Not sure how many your forward boys got (haven't looked at the stats) but if you feel we should be worried about lack of goals then I would imagine that your worries would also stretch as far as your own forward line too??? Also Ba played 90% of those games in the left wing position, although 1 goal is still not a good enough return from such an attack minded position.
Tash man. For you last season was great. A lot of luck, but great. Don't talk you lot up to 3rd ffs. Embarrassin. x
To be fair he's reasoned it well, however pretty much every team in the league can point to 3/4 games they lost and should have won, Liverpool being a prime example last year, give them 12 points they perhaps "deserved" but didn't get and they could claim to be not far from challenging top 4. Disagree with your "luck" statement though!
Of course I'm looking forward to the season and of course I would rather see Ba and Cisse up front for us than say Saha and Campbell but I was commenting on your fellow mags assumption that with Steven Taylor fit you'd have been top 3? That's plain daft. Your team and squad gave everything last year to get 5th and deserve credit - it wasn't luck - but it will be lucky if you can once again squeeze maximum return every game as you did last year given the UEFA silly league you're all involved in. As I said it maybe wishful thinking on my behalf but I don't see you keeping the 100% achievement up for 2 successive years on the trot.
actually the difference between fifth and third was only five points, which would have been easily achievable if our main CB pairing had remained intact (the pairing that helped construct that 11 game unbeaten run) - so a pretty realistic statement really. as for full pelt, we had the fourth or fifth worst injury record in the league last season (what was that about paper thin squad ?), one of star strikers only present from January, and a significant impact from the ACON, so mental instability is more evident in the one who says we were at full pelt ! we were hardly at full pelt at all. but, its all what ifs really, fifth did me nicely and the European games will be a welcome addition to schedule
I don't see any side breaking into this top 4 made up of the two Manchester sides, Chelsea and Arsenal. After that it's up for grabs for 5th-8th between 4-5 sides. Then the rest, us included taking up the 9th-20th positions.
