I am normally a nice, mild mannered type but a lot of "Wycombe fans" are beginning to seriously annoy me (not on here) Gary Waddock may be signing a lot of ex Aldershot players but he has not let us down yet. We should back whoever he signs to do the job in League One next season. If you can't back the club and GW then maybe you should support franchise instead.

Spot on mate, some people are far too quick to judge before even giving the players a chance. We've signed so called big names in the past like Duberry, Westlake, Green, Lennon and others on big money who haven't worked out. It doesn't have to be a well known, experienced player who's played at a higher level every time. Waddock is building a squad, not just a first 11.

So are you saying that people aren't allowed to have a different view, and express it? I don't necessarily agree with what some fans have said, but it doesn't mean they should 'go and support franchise instead', surely?

For what it's worth, my view is that Halls could do well if he stays injury free. He had a solid spell at Stoke City in the Championship, which was enough to convince then Premier League bound Reading to pay £250,000 for him in January 2006. Since then he seems to have been blighted by injury unfortunately.

Donnelly will surely be a regular but I'm less convinced by Grant and Harding, particularly regarding their merits as league one players.

However let's see how they go - Waddock is clearly signing players he feels will fit into the team appropriately. There have been no 'star' signings like we saw with Duberry (who of course turned out to be a disaster), and Waddock seems to have a good eye for a player.

i presume you are talking about the gas room,i had a look on there earlier and there were the usual people on there moaning about the new signings,i am not surprised at all by their outbursts as they are always moaning about something.i totally agree with you back our manager and club or move on to some other pastime, but thats the gasroom for you in a nutshell.i am glad we are not like that on here.in waddock we trust.<ok>

I think there's a difference between expressing an opinion and just moaning all the time about everything before a ball has even been kicked.

I don't agree. Whilst I might not share the same opinion as a few posters (note, it wasn't the majority view on the gasroom) who are disappointed at the signings, I don't think said opinions were made for the sake of moaning. Many of them put forward the view that the summer signings don't improve the squad. I don't see why that's something that can't be put forward, or why it should be seen as moaning, even if I don't agree with it.

I think fans should be allowed their views, but criticising players they haven't even seen yet? I think its ridiculous. If we're to stay up, we need to get behind our team and not have muppets shouting 'You're sh*t Betsy', etc., like was all too common last season. As is the case here, I don't think we should criticise the new players until we have seen them play and give an unbiased verdict that they are no good.

I have no problem with people having an opinion but too many people seem to be spouting off because of the Aldershot connection. All I ask is that people give these players a chance before writing them off. Surely that isn't too much to ask??

I will concede that criticism purely because of the Aldershot connection is ridiculous.

But, you can look at Harding's record on paper so far in his career and you can understand the scepticism of some people. I do trust Waddock though, he's my favourite blues manager for a long while.

Once someone can name a failure from aldershot, i might doubt these transfers.
Bull, Sandell, Winfield, Hinshelwood, Davies and Donnelly were all amazing, and even Straker looked ok but didn't get too many games.

how can you criticise a player when he hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet .give the players a break and a chance to prove theirselves in a blues shirt.i dont care whether the players come from the shots or not ,clearly waddock knows what they are capable of more than anyone on the gasroom.

the blues - I can't name a failure from Aldershot so far! Wouldn't say they've all been amazing though. And fans who think they know better then GW are embarrassing. Surely though you can understand the frustration of some genuine fans, when they see who is available on a free transfer? I can, even though, as I've said, I don't agree with what they're saying. I actually think Halls will be a good player in particular, I like his previous experience especially at Stoke.

Harding's past is exactly that.......THE PAST!! If GW believes he can do a job for us then so be it. We are all entitled to our opinions but these players deserve to be given a chance before we write them off.

I think what people need to ask themselves is are we better prepared than 2 seasons ago?
2 years ago: Half the team (including the captain) had left us, we weren't buying anyone because of in house matters and the players we eventually bought were even more past it than fernando torres. Also, manager, board and players were all arguing with each other and most players couldn't be bothered from the start of the season.

Now: We have retained the promotion winning starting 11 side, we have already signed 3 more players and there is a tight knit group inside the dressing room. We also still have 2 and a half months of transfer activity, so I reckon a few more players will be in by then.

i think waddock has been shrewd in his transfer dealings so far and has strengthened our squad where it was needed.we still need a striker though to complete the squad.i for one am looking forward to seeing the new players bed in to our style of play and cant wait to stand on the terrace and give them a chairboys welcome to adams park.
