Ok you've got the cash from the Henderson sale (thanks by the way) do you not feel that next season could be a struggle if your best players continue to leave? (Henderson,Cana,Bent and possibly Gyan) Unless the players are replaced by new ones with sufficient quality i think, unfortunately that it could be a long season for you. I hope not because i prefer you to Newcastle and i think Steve Bruce is a good manager.
will have to see pal we need to replace Bent, Henderson, Onuoha, Welbeck, Mensah but hopefully not Gyan I trust Brucie and Quinn they aint daft they know us fans will be on the edge of our seats and they know they have some work to do, the likes of N'Gog, this Korean striker, Seb Larsson and the goalkeaper at Coventry will be good squad players but we need 2 or 3 big signings to show we mean business and get the feel good factor back. plenty of time like
I was interested until you said that Steve Bruce was a good manager, Our problem next season will be to attract good players as they'll look at us and see us selling our best players on and think we are lacking ambition. As you say it'll be a long hard season next time around but, that's nothing new to us mate. You rate Jordan or not then mate and do you think you got a good deal? Personally he will be a very good player sorry to see him go but, he will not amount to much at us and should come on in leaps and bounds with you lot.
Henderson hasn't been up for it for quite awhile here. Saw on SSN he says he is hoping to learn from Gerrard, if he does pick up his game, which he is more than capable of, you may just have got a bargain. I shall reserve my opinion on Bruce though.

I think with him playing with a higher quality of player (no offense) then his game could come on leaps on bounds. £20million is perhaps £10million too much. He is also under a manager who is going to give him the chance to bed in with the team and not just throw him in the deep end and see what happens. KD is an expert in nuturing young talent. The only thing i worry about is if we don't sign a RM then he could be made to play out wide and im not sure thats his best position? I think his England debut came too soon aswell. To conclude, yes im happy even if it was a tad expensive because hes a player with bags of potential and could be with us for 10years+ if everything goes well.
Aussie_Mackem I believe you are the dim one as i said that you needed to replace them with players with equal quality, not sell them and buy noone to replace them? Perhaps you should read the thread a bit better I didnt realise you guys don't rate Steve Bruce that highly? I thought he done alright with Birmingham and quite well with Wigan, but you see his decisions week in week out, i dont. The thing about Bruce is that his teams always start really well but then around Feb they drop like a stone. You were in 6th place in Jan/Feb in with a chance of europe but it fell apart, which would worry me.
Scouser, IMHO, you got a bargain, as for the manager part, not with you on that one, on the other hand, you do have a good manager, he is like candy rock, from his head to his toes he reads`LIVERPOOL`.
RW is his best position he is pants in the middle can't tackle and his passing was crap but, on the wing he is very good. Agree he was a bit over priced but that's the way it's going these days. Playing for England he was told not to go over the half way line you could see him actually stop on a number of occasions on the line, played totally out of position a holding or even CM he is not at present. Dalgliesh has form for being a midfielder and that should mean he improves more than he probably would with us, think he'll get the number 7 shirt?
No he won't get the no7 shirt because we've got a Uruguay genius who currently holds that and will for a number of years!
for me Henderson best position is RM it just seem that way to outsiders due to Bruce's insistence of playing him out of position in centre midfield and crapello playing him in the defensive midfield role. but for £20 million pounds with the right nurturing you could have yourself a real bargain and as for us, god only knows who will be in the starting line up come September, lets just hope that our faith in SNQ is justified

Good point mate and I think Bruce threw Henderson in at the deep end even when we were enduring our poor run, which was not good management as the young lad came in for stick from mindless Sunderland fans, who are now whinging about selling him, you just cant win at Sunderland haha
commachio I definately think hes going to be huge for us next season, everytime he gets the ball people get excited. InBruceWeTrust You can't win at most football clubs!
