Not long not until the start of the seaon and a lot of the teams will still have considerable work to do on new recruits (including us), I dont know if its just me but teams seem to be leaving it a bit later this year. I think its going to be really close this year at the top, West ham have made the signing of the seaon in my eyes in Kevin Nolan but they will lose a lot too so dont think they will be as strong as everyone predicts. If the planned exodus happens at Birmingham I can see them struggling for Autos but they should be in the top 6, I expect mid table for Blackpool. Forest will be there or thereabouts as will Reading as they seem Like they are pricing Shane Long out of a move so it looks like he's staying, Leicester are strong on paper but dont think they will walk the league as expected as Sven is simply trying to buy promotion and it doesnt always work like that plus he's a **** manager. Dont know why people are tipping Boro, cant see how they will be any stronger than last year, mid table for them. Which bring me onto Cardiff, at the moment I can see no better than 7th-8th but with a few new quality and experienced signings then play-offs is quite possible. Going to be very tight in the top 10 this year I think and a lot of teams will occupy the top 2 places at one point or another. Brighton to be the surpise team this year. What are your predictions for next year based on signing to date? Top 6 & Bottom 3 1. West Ham 2. Reading 3. N Forest 4. Leicester 5. Birmingham 6. Brighton 22. Watford 23. Crystal Palace 24. Peterborough
I said it before and I''ll have to say it again, City in the outos and I don't care if everybodsy else draws with each other on every count you can think of. not interested.
We got a new manager so we could progress, so with auto being the only possible progression, we have to be going for that. Having said that I'd be happy with a top ten finish as long as we played good football and the players worked hard for the club
Will reassess my prediction once the final team is known. Based on the team as of today I stick with us being 8th.
We will be in and around the play offs I think maybe with a few more signings we can challenge for Autos. West Ham, Leicester and Birmingham all have pretty frightening squads at the moment.
I agree with Drewblue. What would be the point of changing manager if all that everybody is expecting is mid table/playoffs at best? DJ could have done that surely? Malky pretty much said he was aiming to challenge at the top at his first press conference. So with the squad as it stands yes 8th may be about right but with the further 6 signings he's talking about (this may be heart more than head) I expect us to be up there again. Would Bellamy take us from excpecting 8th to autos?
Fed up of saying this, but here goes. We will DEFINTELY be promoted this year by some route - either autos or at last via the playoffs. I still reckon that if we're in a decent position come Christmas (and I expect us to be top 6), we can move on and take the title. WHU, Leicester, Brum, Forest - so what, they all have to play us and we could turn them all over.
MacKay would have never took the job if he didn't think playoffs were a chance . MacKay will have put his stamp on the team by Christmas & have them motivated for top 6 after a few changes in January . Just what I think , don't anyone have a freak out !!
Thought you Jacks only posted on Swansea related threads, your little brother syndrome taking hold again ?
1. Leicester 2. West Ham Utd 3. N Forest 4. Cardiff 5. Birmingham 6. Blackpool 22. Derby 23. Crystal Palace 24. Peterborough
Autos for sure. A few more yet to come in - and some may be surprises. I think we'll play as a real team this season. All for one cause - not all "show me the money".
Agree with Daibush we will play as a team this season and if we don't make the autos or play-offs it won't be for the want of trying the way Malky is working the team. I thought we would go up last year and the year before and my optimistic head hopes we can do it again. However, after 32 years of watching the Bluebirds, I think we maight have to have a year of consolidation before we try again for the Premier League and to be honest I wouldn't mind waiting as long as the team is playing good football and showing genuine signs of improvement. A couple of good signings however might help us into the play-offs.
