We as a club are in a completely different scenario now this year as we are in the Premier league, in years gone by we have always been looking for away days / home games with "THE BIG CLUB" in the cup runs of the past.as we now are playing the "BIG CLUBS" on a regular basis i personally would love us just to stay at home and be lucky enough to pick out teams from lower divisions (will never happen) and go on a good old fashion cup run. just thought i would ask others their thoughts whether we stay in and add games to our season or would you rather we concentrate on the league due to the size of our First team squad?
Yes a cup run would be nice as long as it doesn't interfere with Prem survival. From the lineup yesterday it looks as if Rodgers is taking it seriously this time around. Surprised me.
No replays if we're gonna lose then lose in 90 mins i reckon, not that we will lose . i think we need to keep the impetus ticking over especially as that was another win on the road and winning breeds confidence within the squad and pressure for postitions, keep up the good work
another away draw, never mind we should progress further, no draws only wins please and we can go all the way....
Gutted! I really could have done with a nice local tie, or even a London game.........I'm just sick of the sight of the M50 and M6! Macclesfield is about half hour closer I reckon, so I know who I'll be cheering for in their replay.
Looks like Nan U have the job of knocking off the other big clubs. With our style we could go all the way in this.
thats what i was thinking yankee .... we are one of the best clubs left in the cup so if man u can pick off the more bigger sides then we will do the rest and meet them in the final at wembley...... win that and we will play the curtain opener in the charity shield next season ......WOW
I would quite happily swap a cup win again Bolton for the 3 points in the league game. I hope Macclesfield win the replay as I have a feeling the Bolton game could end in a draw which would not be good news.
Nah man, it was this Welsh Bitter Ad from the late 70's early 80's.... ..A guy with an American accent, wearing a jacket and tie, walks into a Welsh bar. Bloke standing next to him goes "Hey it's Bryn ! Haven't seen you in years ! Bryn (in American accent) "Got my own ranch back in Texas now" (drinks pint) Screen fades to black... Cut to Bryn drinking his 3rd or 4th pint, who drawls "Yeah, got 100 acres, a wonderful wife and kids" etc etc Screen fades to black... Cut to Bryn with his tie off drinking yet another pint, in a broad Valleys accent "That's the trouble with them Yanks mun ! No hwyl !" Screen shows a pint on a bar, with the slogan "Never forget your Welsh" (PS not to be confused with Allbright - the most popular pint in Wales "I declare the extension on the extension on the extension, OPEN!"
Cheers swimaway knew it was to do with bitter, i was still on soft drinks then. Back to the football, i would of thought macclesfield have had their chance so Bolton away on 29th Jan and hopefully our fourth away win.in a row STID
Yeah a good cup run would be nice and as long as it doesn't take too much out of the boys it can be a confidence boost. For instance I bet Danny will be raring to go for our next game after scoring such a screamer.
His team mates reckon that he does that regularly in training but not seen much evidence of it in actual games. Perhaps he should have a pop from distance a bit more often.
I'm happy with our draw, it's what I was hoping for as the numbers rolled out, both Bolton and Mac, are teams we could well get a result from, and the way that Rodgers is rotating the squad, we should well be able to do both the cup run, and League........... please log in to view this image
the beer advert that states "never forget your welsh " use to be clamed the most popular beer in wales is.....ALBRIGHT....its weak as hell...
