IMO Joao Carlos Teixeira Came on as a 2nd half sub v Wolves in the under 21s on Monday Night making his debut after suffering a lot of injuries in the last 12 month.Him and Pacheco then proceeded to rip Wolves to bits.Plays like he wearing wing mirrors, seems to know where everyone is around him and has excellent vision Certain to be in the 1st team make up by the end of the season IMO
Is he a central midfielder or an advanced, attacking midfielder? We could really do with a few young, clever, deep lying midfielders ...
He put one in following a great piece of work from Dani. He only had to put it into the net but he did it all the same.
This kid came to Liverpools attention when he played for Sporting Lisbons under 19s against Liverpool in the Nextgen in 2011. He ripped Liverpool apart singlehandly and was their stand out player by miles. A lot of people were over the moon that we were able to land him. He dropped off the radar for a period of time. However the u21s is a way for these kids to showcase their talents, and make Brendan sit up and take notice. Brendan watches a lot of under 21 games, and is notified on a regular basis on how the players are doing. We've seen with the likes of Andre Wisdom, Suso and Raheem Sterling that age isn't an issue. We've also seen that Brendan gives the even younger ones i.e. Jordan Ibe and Jerome Sinclair a taste of the first team whilst they are still at school. Lets see if Joao Texeira lives up to his potential.
Another player that stood out in the Next Gen series was Viktor Fischer of Ajax, who featured in the Champions League on Tuesday. I was hoping we could have got him ...
He is in the reserves, I tried to loan him out but couldn't. He will play in all of my local cup games and the odd prem game though. Battling on all 4 fronts!
