I have been going on about it for a couple months or so now that Rodgers has to go. It feels like a certainty that he will be gone, so who are the options? Jurgen Klopp - My choice personally Frank De Boer - Good choice and could easily be picked Carlo Ancelotti - Likely to be leaving Madrid, but probably wants a big money job Diego Simeone - Has he achieved all he can at Madrid? Rafa Benitez - Legend, but you should never go back to an old manager. Any others?
Loco Bielsa, great attacking manager but ****ing nuts and would be a big risk. He gave you lot a footy lesson a while back.
I've said for a while I'd love Simeone but understand why people are going for Klopp, his record is good.
He may be as mad as a box of rabbits but he is tactically very good and more importantly is a brilliant coach. Dont just go for the bright lights of the fancy names (many of who are unrealistic imo), go for someone who will have you competing for top 4. I dont see him as a risk at all.
I would be concerned defensively, I loved watching his Chile side and Bilbao side (who spanked you and I called it) but they do leak goals and I wonder if his style would be suited to the PL. He's a strong character who thrives on discipline and hard work. I would be pleased with his appointment but also nervous.
my view: 1. This has to be the highest paid job in english football to attract a big name. mourinho is on 8.5mil... we must pay 10mil 2. for that no punts. 3. If carlo anchelotti is available i'd literally send hookers and blow to get him over here.. anything he wants... ANYTHNG 4. klopp's style is nice I'd have him after that 5. no to de boer. i don't like his attitude
You'd have to pay 10m to Rodgers first. Imagine you have an annual contract at 10m having to pay 3 times that amount if he fcked up.
Colin will come much cheaper than that, he'd be a great choice You know your club is on the rise when you've got Colins massive bonce and desert wellies stomping up and down your touchline
Also dont forget how he'll develop your U21's into the first team as well as mould your young signings in their best position. He'd be ideal for Livpl considering the squad you have.
If BR is to go,its about getting the right man in as his replacement. Not paying the highest salary in the prem.
It's a good shout, he's somewhere in the French league now if I remember rightly. Are we ready for the 3331 formation?
