We're only 3 days away to our next game, so rather than dwelling on today's game lets get onto our next one. IMO this is going to be a tough one as Lambert always does a number on us. They have shipped 15 goals in 3 games with no reply, we should be piling on the misery as well, there is no sentiment in this game we must win this one and put another nail in their coffin.
But there must be no complacency. Villa beat Liverpool away a fortnight ago. I reckon they will park the bus in front of goal to stop the rot and just get a clean sheet. Could be a frustrating afternoon if we don't score early so our fans have to be patient. Swans 1 Villa 0
Yep, need to get the three points against Vila. Their a poor side, but we don't like playing this type of team. But we need to roll our sleeves up and battle to get these points and as you say put another nail in there coffin.
You would normally go into a Lambert game fearing the worst, but 15 goals conceded in 3 games is abysmal - we must surely score a couple in this game.
Interesting that Wigan allowed Villa to play today, and then took advantage of the inevitable mistakes that come from a side low on confidence. I wonder how ML will have us set up.
ML seemed to have todays team set up with resting better players for villa in mind so I think 3pts against a team shot on confidence is a must. we can't be as poor as today (by our standards) and with more 1st teamers in there we should do well. Just hope that Benetke doesn't have a good game 'cos he looks the business.
Lambert has his hands tied by the Villa board, and with only three days till the game, I am feeling pretty good regarding this one, Graham leading the line, with maybe Michu back, and with Hernandez too, can't help but thinking there's a goal feast coming our way! 3-0 Swansea city............. please log in to view this image
Mustn't relax or be over confident. 3 points would put us 13 points ahead of Villa and surely mean that they couldn't catch us this season.
We have been guilty of relaxing against the bottom teams for as long as I can remember, but Laudrup is addressing this mind set very well, and if you look at his media interviews, he is putting the emphasis on games like Reading, and Villa as more important that the Manu games!! Needless to say that that gives us our bread and butter points! There is no doubt in my mind that King Laudrup, is 'THE' best manager ever to set foot in Swansea...............
"............... ever to set foot in Swansea" I'm sure that there's a 70 year old Scot who lives in Manchester who would disagree !!
We need to be on top form for this game should be 3pts and 5 goals to us come on you Swans show no mercy.
To true as you say Dragon. We have seen this all before ive been a fan for over 50yrs , Thats for sure arise Sir M. Laudrup yes we all know Fergi is a good manager but he can be very aregant. were our boss is up there with the best.
Looking at the Villa forums they are expecting a beating down the Liberty, given that we are so confident this is bound to blow up in our faces. On the plus side they think that we still play the ball out from defence everytime so maybe some cheeky counter attacking could be the order of the day.
I hate these games, we never show up and struggle to find goals against these teams that get whipped by others. I want us to get stuck in as if we were playing man utd and score lots of goals and kill them off as we should be doing against these sides....
Totally agree, Dai. Historically we seem to find difficulty against sides that other teams are whipping as a matter of course. We should go for the jugular from the off and keep the pressure on until they break. Scoring the first goal will be vitally important. They are short of confidence and if we can get an early goal, they are bound to think that they are in for another hiding and their heads will droop. Word of caution, though. Lambert will know that we don't perform well under pressure and he will make sure that Villa get in our faces. Cope with that and we will be just three wins from safety.
West bromwich albion same attitude and same conviction as the first half of that game to a packed out liberty. what a way to start the new year
