Obviously we know Newcastle's next fixtures are

    Everton - A
    WBA - H
    Chelsea - A
    Man City - H
    Stoke - A

But our rivals are as follows

    Mackems

    Man City - H
    Lpool - A
    Man U - H
    West H - A
    Palace - H

    Villa

    West H - A
    Norwich - H
    Lpool - H
    Stoke - A
    Everton - H

    Norwich

    Tottenham -H
    Villa - A
    West H - H
    Leicester - A
    Chelsea - H

    Bournemouth

    Palace - A
    Arsenal - H
    Stoke - H
    Watford - A
    Southampton - H

    Swansea

    WBA - A
    Palace - H
    Southampton - H
    Tottenham - A
    Arsenal - A

I Think Villa Are Gone, I will probably be of the same opinion with the Mackems if they dont manage to get a point out of the next 5, which is really quite possible because that's a hard set of fixture, But it's also very dependant on how we do, if we dont manage to create a gap, then we are gonna pay for it!

We really need to start getting some results, I cant see most of the teams in an around us picking up points in couple of the games listed. Everton with their home form and the fact they have 3 games in 9 days compared to us just playing them means we really need to bring the energy and keep it up for 90 mins. A few more injuries to their side would help too.

I dont see Norwich picking up much, so its imperative we start now lets get up that league table!

This is why we still have a chance. Some may moan and complain about our team but I'm pretty sure more than one or two other sets of fans are doing exactly the same.

Yes Mitro should score more often, yes Colo has two good games and then four annonymous games BUT that's wha's happening elsewhere as well.

If, and currently it's a massive if, we get a goal scorer then we WILL stay up. Whether we deserve to is a different question.

I still believe we will stay up not because we are good enough but rather, like the last few seasons, there are three teams worse than us.

    Who?

    1. Villa
    2. Sunderland
    3. Norwich.

Assuming that I am correct I really don't care if there are four or five teams worse than us or should be or whatever. So long as there are at least three below us. If we don't get a goalscorer then it will be tight and down to the last one or two games and luck.

In the meantime stay positive. The transfer window is not yet shut.

Well that's me had my daily positivity fix - thanks Trev! <ok>

I agree with you. While we are more than aware of our own failings and ****ness, we still have a chance of being saved thanks to the utter ****ness of others. We NEED that goalscorer though!

Get a goalscorer we will stay up. Fine margins and all.

    I agree with you Trev

But i would go as far as adding Bournemouth to that list of teams worse than us. I get that they play nice football and everything, but so did Blackpool and so many teams before them, it really doesnt matter, I think if either Bournemouth or Norwich fall into the bottom three, then they will more than likely stay there. The bottom 3 is like glue, it hits players hard and even when we get that win weve been waiting for, its the week everyone else wins.

Bournemouth will be fine. They are getting results and will have enough points on the board. I can the current bottom three going down.

Bournemouth, like Burnley, will eventually struggle. Norwich are quite poor. Both have inexperience at the helm, much like Sean Dyche and Burnley. Sunderland are as poor as they've ever been, Villa are already gone, Swansea will hover around the relegation zone as will we. As has been said, I genuinely don't think we'll go down because there will be 3 teams worse than us and at some point we'll have a purple patch.

I dont think it matters who the mackems buy, Having looked at their fixtures, not just the next 5 as they have Southampton followed by everton, I really cant see them scraping many if any points in their next 7 games

    Then they play us!

On Norwich's current form the only game out of the next 5 i see them getting anything is Villa, but my preferance is a Villa win, will do us a favour and hopefully they can finish 2nd from bottom

I see our must win games are Everton, WBA, Sunderland, Norwich, Villa, Bournemouth, Swansea, Palace.

That will leave us on 45 points, as for the rest of our fixtures, we would probably be lucky to get a point!

We might do it the NUFC way and lose all our must win games, then go beat M City, Lpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Southampton and leicester!

I believe are teams with 3 worse sets of players than us. Whether that will translate into points is down to the manager. Currently he has under-achieved with what he has at his disposal. The worry is he'll probably spend the rest of our budget on midfielders <laugh>

It is a critical time looking at the fixtures. We need 6-9 points out of those games.

Bournemouth have a very difficult run in that may do for them if not in a decent position before hand. I personally think they will be ok though. I think it will be villa mackems and nowrich of we manage to get out of it.
