Assuming Marshie goes, the one good thing it'll mean is we'll have an outfield player as a captain - but who?

As good a player as he is, I've never liked having a keeper as captain on the pitch. Maybe as club captain but we need a shouter with authority in the thick of it not stuck between the posts away from the action.

Who could be the right choice to replace him?

Morrison for me. But Gunnar? Iceland's captain?

agree about the keeper captain Sparkey. Don't like wide men as captains either. Needs to be someone in the centre of the park. Centre back or Centre mid.

Also needs to be someone who is an almost certain starter.

Saying that I have no issue with having a 'club captain' and a 'match day captain'.

Connolley seems quite vocal. Ralls maybe or Immers. Whitts is too laid back. outside that, no-one with the gravitas or experience to carry it off.

Has to be Morrison for me or Connolly . I think Gunner will be in and out of the side so despite his Icelandic credentials he would not be my choice

    Might as well get Pugwash.

After that lot again yesterday against a poor side at this level, this club is going nowhere.

It has to be Morrison or Connolly for me. They are both guaranteed to play and I think centre back is a good position to captain from.

Having said that the next three days will determine our season. No striker means a relegation battle with no ammunition for the fight.
