Millwall (A) Burnley (A) Wigan (A) Don't know how we ended up with 3 tough away games on the trot but one thing for certain we'll know better where we stand going forward for the rest of the season. If we can take 3-4 points & still be sitting around 2nd at the end of the month I'll be pretty pleased.
Wigan away was re arranged due to them bring in Europe. Its also our game in hand as well. Id expect 3 0 and 1 point from those. The burnley game will be a big one.
I think we'll do better than pessimistic Rs fans generally believe. I reckon 5 or 7 points from a possible 9.
if we are still in the top 2 at the end of the month, I'll be pleased. Having said that, we are playing well enough to win all three games.
Forgot about the Wigan re-arrangement but does make things tough with Wigan IMO the toughest. For me I'm going for: Millwall (A) 1:2 Burnley (A) 0:0 Wigan (A) 2:1
We should always look for three points in every game. We are capable of beating anyone home or away. I think Harry will think the same. The quicker we get ourselves promoted the better. Once we are promoted Harry will have more time to prepare for next season and start to recruit the players he needs. ( Hopefully only three or four this time. ) Our upcoming three opponents should be fearing us more than we fear them, and they, like Brighton will see getting a point of off us as a result.
you are right in all honesty Burnley are playing some great stuff but we have better players throughout our team We should go there expecting to win but knowing a draw is fine
Well said, mate. We can realistically expect to get 7 to 9 points out of these 3 games. As a team, we are still finding our feet but the best thing is, we are also getting / playing better as a team. Wins against Burnley & Millwall and a draw with Wigan ............... anything better is a bonus. Don't ask me why but I feel Wigan will be a tougher game than Burnley.
Personally I think we can realize 3 at Millwall, but I fear draws at the other two. I'll be very happy with 7 or 9. Not that we couldn't but I am worried that we won't.
3 wins for the R's and we march on. This could be a great statement of intent. We win these 3 and the league is ours to lose!! Name me a better TEAM in this league ?.apart from the massive ones of course.
5pts from the nine will not be a bad outcome. Every possibility we will only end up with 3 though. Not losing away won't be a bad result in this campaign come the end of the season. We will definitely have a better picture of this teams resolve and drive by the end. We are capable of winning any of these games, but it will be tough. It's one thing thinking how to stop a visiting team scoring, it's another worrying how the hell you are going to get a goal against a team with eight consecutive clean sheets as well!! It will be an interesting closure to October.
Good post 9's. We shouldn't fear anyone in this league given the way we are playing and the players we have. How Harry sets us up for each and every game will be crucial. No two games will be the same.
Let's not forget too that these teams and their fans will not be overly optimistic about facing the Rs at the moment either. We should not be going to these places with any fear, just respect. Just look at our players at the moment - with a few exceptions, such as Austin and Phillips, it's a Premier League squad. It's a team that cannot find a starting place for the likes of Hoilett, Jenas, Wright-Phillips and Cesar, all of whom might be most welcome into the squads of Crystal Phallus, Hell City, Caerdydd, Stroke or Got-A-Loight-Boy... Well, maybe not SWP, but you get the point.
Hoilett is coming back from injury and Cesar has a broken finger. Im not sure Jenas would get in those teams.
I think we're good enough to take 5-9 points from those games. We should be far too strong for Millwall and we're capable of at least a draw at Burnley and Wigan and if we are at our best we could win those as well. These are tests on a par with our early season fixtures at Bolton and Leeds, we were concerned but came through them comfortably, we are capable of the same again...
Burnley is going to be the true guide of how far we have come, best attack against best defense, i'd be happy with a draw, from the 3 games 5 pts and I'd be happy bunny. For me I don't think Burnley have the depth in their sqaud and a couple of injuries would see them in trouble I think we will have the legs over them through out the season.
