We have 10 fixtures between now and the transfer window. Out of these 10 games i would of said at the start of the season that we could of got anywhere between 16 and 20 points out of them. Now i'm not so sure. This is how i see it based on how our seasons gone so far. Yeah, I think that's pessimistic. All the home games are very winnable, and I'd back us to take maximum points at home to Reading and Norwich. We should also plan to beat QPR away imo. We have serious defensive problems at the mo, but we are not the worst team in the league.
If we have the run you are predicting above...we are going down. 5pts from now until Jan will leave us out of touch with those not in the relegation zone, and maybe even those others in the relegation zone, particularly as you have us down losing to QPR and Reading, the fabled "6 pointers". I'm awarding us a 12 point haul out of this lot. West Brom - Draw Swansea - Win QPR - Draw Newcastle - Lose Norwich - Win Liverpool - Lose Reading - Win Sunderland - Lose Fulham - Draw Stoke - Lose I particularly would not like to lose to Reading after last years fixture at ours, on the HobNobs forum they still have an active thread about that match!
Yeah very true i do agree that we are not the worst team in the league and i am probably doing us an injustice with my predictions, Like i said at the start of this thread these 2 months at the start of the season i had as being our most profitable, now i have changed my mind not just because of our form but also because other teams will expect to get something out of games with us. At the start alot of these teams would of been happy not losing to us now they will be attacking us knowing we are there for the taking.
Sorry but that doesn't even make sense, aside from it being incredibly pessimistic. Swansea are better than norwich so why would be beat the Swans but lose to Norwich?
The fixtures towards the end of the season are the easiest on paper so I would expect us to pick up some points there. I don't think given our start it was realistic to think the start of the season would be the most profitable part. I think most teams in this division would have thought they could beat us anyway.
Three days before the Newcastle game, they play Maritimo in the Eu-ropey League. Put me down for a 3-1 win.
We did the double over Swansea last year. You might beat us on your home patch but with your goals conceded don't be surprised to see Holt walk away with the match ball.
You should do better than that.I reckon 11.Wins against Reading and QPR.Draws against Us,Swans,Sunderland,Scousers and Geordies.
I think if we start picking up points we could do well as morale would lift. On the other hand, the more games that go by without a win the worst it could turn out. On that basis I find it difficult to guess individual results. Swansea at home is a very important game.
I know we won't win them all, but out of the ten games you have highlighted, eight are eminently winnable. Only Liverpool and Newcastle strike me as games where I don't expect any return. A decent spell of three or four wins on the trot could do wonders for our league position and our confidence.
No offence, but that really would surprise me. I know our defence isn't great but only Van Persie has scored a hat-trick against us, and good as Holt is, he's not that good.
West Brom - Lose Swansea - Win QPR - Draw Newcastle - Lose Norwich - Win Liverpool - Lose Reading - Win Sunderland - Draw Fulham - Draw Stoke - Draw 13 points for me
West Brom - Lose Swansea - Win QPR - Draw Newcastle - Draw Norwich - Win Liverpool - Lose Reading - Win Sunderland - Draw Fulham - Draw Stoke - Draw 14 points + the 4 points we already have gives us 18 points.
West Brom - lose Swansea - Win QPR - lose Newcastle - Lose Norwich - Win Liverpool - Lose Reading - Win Sunderland - win Fulham - lose Stoke - draw
you're having a laugh right? he'll be rolling around on the floor clutching his face, faking an injury while we go up your end and score. oh wait, thats already happened!
