I am a bit of a newsoholic before the Internet i used to have delivered a local and national paper, which I changed from time to time. In the past few years I have been able to browse a lot of the content of most newspapers for nowt online. However other than the daily heil newspapers want you to subscribe now to have access. Being tight I wonder is there a way round this? Or should I just cough up?
i'm the same mate, the internet is so much better than the newspapers, which if you think is reporting on what happened yesterday, The internet is so much better. I am subscribed to 3 papers, it doesn't cost much, and worth it
So will every news outlet mind I had a free 3 month access to the NY Times a year or so ago. What a shocking decline if has suffered. Most probably attributable to the arrival there of Mark Thompson, formerly BBC head. It is an awful organ now, almost entirely consisting of stories promoting a far left woke agenda on everything. Many journalists have left it and say the culture there now is almost Maoist. I'd say the Guardian has suffered a similar decline, though its foreign news has always been well above average. But it is a long way from its best, though that is to be expected perhaps when it is financially supported by the Scott Trust and doesn't need to sell anything too stay in business, ( just as well as it barely does!) There are few I'd trust. The Guardian can be okay when it puts in the effort, as can the Telegraph. The Times has sunk badly too, seemingly losing its mind after the 2016 referendum. The others are a predictable bunch really, but all newspapers struggle now in a fast moving world, and it has caused them all to lower their standards dramatically.
