Luongo interests middle to low Prem Clubs http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/football-crystal-palace-middlesbrough-west-brom-luongo-gossip Petrasso...remember him...signs new contract http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/article/165/10634009/-
Doesn't surprise me about Luongo. Chronically underrated by some fans and too often hamstrung by playing alongside Henry.
Other reports say he is apparently is happy at QPR. I assume that will last as long us he sees us moving forward. We need to be up there in spitting range to keep him with us
I read in an interview recently, that Luongo said he enjoyed playing in the deeper role he has been playing for QPR, as he feels it is developing him as a more complete midfielder.
I expect it's just his agent attempting to justify his fee's, and if he really thinks Mas is ready for the Prem then he's about 18 months too early I'd say. Best thing his agent can do for him is stick him on a rack until he's at least 5ft tall
He's done well for the Aussie team and I really think he's not progressing as quickly as he should with us, the same could be said for Petrasso, a good coach would have both of them improving more than they have...
It will tell us a lot about the ultimate ambition of the club if he is sold, as I also expect Chery to be a target for one or two clubs, goalscoring midfielders are sought after. If they both go we're f*cked...
I think Luongo will reach higher heights than Chery. We're over-reliant on Chery to create but without him if it meant we played with two proper wingers getting crosses in I think we'd score more.
On principle I like players like Chery and always want QPR to have a proper number 10. But I think you might be right.
Don't think it's good news for the club at all. Difficult to build a good team when the best prospects get sold. I think it really underlines the need to invest in the players and possibly Manager to get us up this season. "Consolidating" season after season with dwindling revenues and any decent players getting sold on to help the dwindling revenue will likely leave us a lower league Club for years.
If an offer comes in that means we are in a position to buy at least two more up and coming Luongo types then the club will be doing things right. Personally, I quite like him and think he's got a bit more room to develop and hope he can do that with us before we sell him for a better price. Part of the business model should allow for the playing side to benefit from the purchases too.
Luongo will end up a hero for some club or other. Any luck it will be us, but the business model demands that he will be sold if the price is right.
Totally agree. There is no money to invest, and with FFP coupled with our current ground size/attendances, as previous posters have said, our business model now requires proceeds from player sales. "Investing" to get promotion is where we have failed in the past. Look at Burnley, Swansea, Southampton, etc, all sell to develop and build overall squad strength
I don't believe that. We bought and sold in the summer and will January I expect. Our owners have the funds to use moderately if we are in a reasonable chance of the play offs. The Club's you name also purchased.
Yes we bought, but not, as I said "to buy promotion". Personally I don't think the squad is strong enough to survive in the EPL, and some of our developing talent would regress if placed under the pressure of playing in the EPL. But I quoted those clubs as clubs that bought and SOLD which you described as not good news. It is a fact of life for a club our size, that we have to sell.
