    I loathe that 'hindsight' excuse. When the UK was dithering about and considering letting Covid run rampant to achieve herd immunity, a quick look at virtually any news network would have shown that Italy was on the brink of a health service collapse and Spain was coming up behind. The UK was in the position of being able to see exactly how devastating Covid was when it was left unchecked, but opted to sit back and see if it would play out differently for some unlikely reason. What would have helped (perhaps) was if the PM had attended all the Cobra meetings from january on when there was still time to put a plan together, but he was busy shagging some woman he is now in Marbella with, so the ragbag nodding dog cabinet he assembled was left to blunder along - it didn't really improve when he finally emerged from the bedroom to see if there was anything a Prime Minister might help with. I'd love to see someone hit these cretins with the facts every time they try and hide their incompetence behind the word 'hindsight'.

    This Government has lost more civilian lives on its watch than any other in British history.
    And the night is still young.

    By 2024 the death rate from every major cause will be higher than it's ever been.
    If Boris gets another term, it will prove beyond any doubt that in present day UK politics it's personality that counts.
    Sadly Sir Keir doesn't have one, and nobody even knows who the Lib Dem leader is.

    Clem Attlee didn't have a personality either, and he was Labour's greatest ever leader. Different times.

    Life expectancy for women in the poorest part of Leeds is now 27 years less than in the richest parts of London.

    Ever increasing inequality.

    Yorkshire bakers using sprinkles with an illegal additive.
    Trading Standards say they must desist (because it's illegal). Sorry, but that sounds reasonable to me.
    Bakery throws major wobbly, claiming alternative (legal) sprinkles are "rubbish".

    Sorry, but this is just funny <laugh> come on you bakers, just buy some different sprinkles.

    My local DIY shop can't get any floor mops, and have only one left in stock. Which means there may be a shortage of mops, so you know what to do..........right away!

    Maybe a league table of floor mops would be the answer.

    We have a severe shortage of GP's, so the Government is going to publish league tables of them.
    What will they think of next;
    Star ratings for A&E departments?

    This government is unique in that it has never made a single mistake.....................according to this government. All the country's woes are somebody else's fault.

    Emma Raducanu: US Open champion withdraws from Kremlin Cup

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/58919013

    I'm beginning to wonder whether her incredible Grand Slam win has done her more harm than good.
    Perhaps she needs some time away from the huge pressure of constantly competing at that level.
    Take the rest of the year off Emma.
    Enjoy Christmas with your folks <cracker> <gift> <bubbly>

    A stroke of genius from the newly refreshed Boris;
    Ridiculing environmentalists, vegetarians, hippies and various other do-gooders with one sweeping sentence about the Green Police <applause>

    Problem is, he has a point. And on more than one level.
    Want to buy an electric car? That'll be £30 Grand mate. And that's for the base model.
    Want to install a heat pump in your home? You'll only get loose change back from £10K. That's if it can be done at all.

    The green paradise future, where Humanity lives in harmony with nature, is strictly for the upper middle classes and the elite.
    Folks who live their lives like they're in a TV advert for the latest SUV.
    It's all crap - and guess who'll be paying for it with ever higher taxes. Yep, you and me.

    Boris has an ability verging on genius to deflect attention away from his government's failings.

    After being brow-beaten by the Royal Family all week about going greener, it's refreshing to hear an elected politician chime a note with the millions of people who may concede the validity of the concept of saving the planet, but are a bit fed up with being preached at about it from on high.
    As if not being Vegan and living in deepest Cornwall (or having a second home there) are things to be ashamed of.

    I promise not to fly anywhere in a private jet for the next 10 years.
    How many of the Royals will join me in that pledge, and keep it?

    But are you ok flying in private helicopters Lardi ? That one would really hit them if they couldn't do it.

    They'd have to travel on those ghastly roads, with only 3 or 4 unmarked Police Range Rovers and X5's to escort them. Awful, just awful for them.
