The tide in the Tory Party is gradually turning against Boris thank goodness, as a growing number begin to see him for what he is. The Doolally Mail, The Maily Telegraph and Express are still pro-Boris, but they've been so publicly and vehemently committed to their idol that it must be very hard to change. There's only a tiny minority who still believe his version of events in his war with Sunak.

Certain sections of the Conservative Party really have been poisoned by Trumpian theology haven't they...

Nadine Dorries - "Sinister forces" prevented her getting into the House of Lords <doh>
    Good grief.
Does she know what she sounds like to ordinary people?
It's pure Q-anon. A Cabal of Satanist kiddy-diddlers conspired against her and her beloved Boris.
    That's what she sounds like.

Give us a break Nadine. Nobody cares about your Peerage.
We've got plenty of real problems on our plate.

Brilliant front page on The Star this morning. You can see it on the BBC News website. Or maybe someone with more IT skills than me can post it?

And why is TOBLERONE now being pushed as the essential Father's Day chocolate gift?

If Boris ever gets an honour (as is the custom for ex-Prime Ministers) he could be dubbed Baron Munchausen.

we visited Penlee (Mousehole ) at Christmas 2021.

it was the 40th anniversary of the Penlee lifeboat disaster .

we found the whole thing very sad / moving .

The job of the R.N.L.I crews is to SAVE LIVES .End of IMHO

More than 600 people have died in the RNLI's service; their names are inscribed on the RNLI Memorial sculpture at RNLI HQ, Poole.

MP's to debate the Committee's findings that Boris lied to Parliament today.

    They are intelligent people.
Surely they can see the grave danger of undermining the democratic processes of Parliament.
And if Rishi Sunak does not attend or vote, then he is a coward.

I questioned the integrity of Parliament myself while they were blocking the implementation of Brexit in the months before the 2019 General Election.
So I cannot claim that my conscience is clear on this.
But at least I was not opposing them in support of one single person. I was supporting the will of the People expressed in 2016.

For some of the most senior politicians in the land to undermine the integrity of Parliament is a very dangerous thing to do.
We would be travelling the same road that Trump has dragged the USA down.
The truth must be defended against lies.

Modern lifeboats are wonderful bits of sophisticated machinery, but if you look at some of the old lifeboats, they're little more than huge rowing boats. I simply can't imagine the courage it must have taken to go out in stormy seas in one of those to perform a rescue.

It's going to be interesting to see how many Tory MP's have "prior engagements". Party members are still in thrall to Boris, and are threatening to deselect MP's who vote for the motion. The same members who voted for Liz Truss over Rishi Sunak. The same Liz Truss who lost to a Tesco lettuce.

The Trumpian Right of the Tory Party is tearing itself away from the mainstream, and from reality.

    Anybody remember "One Nation" Conservatism?

So, it turns out that Jacob Rees-Mogg and Nadine Dorries can talk a good fight, but have no actual backbone.
    Both abstained.
Only six Tory MP's actually had the balls to prove their fanatical loyalty to Boris by voting against the Committee report.

But Victorian Dad & Go-Nads at least showed their faces.
    Where was their current boss?
Rishi "Integrity, transparency, accountability" Sunak was nowhere to be seen. He was having tea with the Swedish Prime Minister apparently.
    Like you do.
We've never had a Prime Minister who's so good at going missing.

Really is time to have a general election and get some direction again. I think a lot of the middle ground Tories are happy to see the back of Boris and would be happy to see the ERH/Bruges group do one too. But there were a lot of absentees last night, which says a lot about the in fighting and the people worried about getting a knife in the back. Go Nads was threatening people yesterday that 'anyone who votes for the motion to accept the findings of the comittee will be remembered' or words to that effect.
I sort of suspected Johnson would get caught out eventually, but even given his track record of being repeatedly sacked for lying, I thought he might have the wit to try and be honest once he got his dream job of running the country. imagine working so hard, betraying so many people and ideals, in order to become PM, and then fu%&k it up so badly in three short years. Still, his hairdresser, and that young girl who may or may not be his daughter have reason to be thankful for his lack of any scruples.

It all just goes to prove without a doubt that Boris Johnson sees the world very differently from almost everyone else.
I expect when he was sacked in the past for lying he never actually accepted he's been at fault.
Lying to your boss, lying to your wife, lying to Parliament.
It's all the same to him. A trivial matter.

    On a slightly different note...

Horrible story on the BBC News website about an international monkey-torturing ring. How sick are some people?
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-65951188
No surprise to see the US "Torture King" is a Confederate & Trump fanatic <doh>

Some economists are now saying only a recession will bring inflation down in this country.

A recession will mean thousands of closed businesses. Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost.
Many people evicted from their homes, renters and mortgage payers.
Years of misery and austerity and poverty.

The alternative is permanently high inflation and interest rates.
Thousands of closed businesses. Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost.

Years of misery and austerity and poverty.

Dave, Theresa, Boris, Liz, Rishi.... Nice job running the Economy <applause>
