Well said Mr Gabriel Stirling https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election-us-2020-55153918 It's time all responsible folk - especially Republican Party members - said enough is enough. Innocent people's lives and property should not be used as stakes in this nasty and utterly pointless political game. Trump and his fanatical little band of lawyers need to be told it's over. Mr Sterling also cited threats of violence against Chris Krebs, who was fired last month as head of the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency after he disputed Mr Trump's fraud claims. Mr Sterling condemned Trump lawyer Joe DiGenova, who said on Monday that Mr Krebs should be "taken out at dawn and shot".
TRump will never admit to losing, he has no integrity. He has told so many lies that it's doubtful if he knows or cares whether he's lying or not. His spokesperson calls them "alternative facts", giving his fans the green light to buy into them. Lying has always been a part of human nature, but it used to be that if you were caught lying you would own up, or try to wriggle out of it, but now it seems you double down on the lie.
Interesting that Biden has broken his foot, and his advisers are not letting him be seen using crutches. I suspect these health scares will come up regularly over the next 4 years.
The chap I quoted last week is on the money again this week: "Poor old Tucker Carlson. All the man’s trying to do is educate you poor slobs about facts and evidence, and you turn on him like jackals for his measured rationalism. Tuck is facing a backlash among rightists for his caution regarding Trump lawyer/not Trump lawyer/maybe Trump lawyer Sidney Powell’s “dingoes ate me ballots” election fraud claims. Twice last week, Carlson opened his show with a monologue critiquing Powell’s large-brush portraits of a massive anti-Trump fraud scheme involving vote-switching machines run by an international cabal of communists. Tuck didn’t accuse Powell of lying. He merely made the point that she’d yet to present evidence to back up her accusations. Indeed, Carlson stated, no one so far has provided evidence of the kind of large-scale conspiracy alleged by the more colorful members of Team Trump. “It doesn’t mean it didn’t happen,” Tuck said of the voter fraud claims. “It might have happened,” but so far people “haven’t seen any evidence that it happened.” See what the guy is saying there? A claim without evidence remains merely a claim. Asking for proof doesn’t mean you’re dismissing that claim. In fact, it means you’re taking it seriously by seeking to know the substance behind it. And if there’s no substance, as much as one might want to believe the claim, an honest observer must remain skeptical. That Tucker Carlson…he gets it. It’s not the assertion, but the facts. We may want an allegation to be true, but we must always stay grounded and demand solid proof." I think that nails it. Everything Trump, Giuliani et al have said may be true. But without hard evidence their words are meaningless. I said a few weks ago that Trump has to put up or shut up. I think it can only go one way. No amount of bluster can get him over the evidential hurdles.
I am not sure that he has mental capacity for the job even now based on his recent public appearances. I would be very surprised to see him last more than a year in office before retiring through "ill health". It's a fairly cynical nomination to get Harris in and I don't think she will be good for the USA or the world.

Yes, it must be a pain to see the government just spaffing the money out to their mates with no oversight or even the suggestion of putting public money out to tender.
There's no hiding how poorly the UK has responded to Coronavirus in terms of lives lost to it. Germany is a land-locked country with 20 million more people in it, but their response has been far better, even allowing for their current problems. There will be time for the poor decisions and mistakes to be analysed. Nothing is going to be hidden away from a crisis this huge. We've lost as many civilian lives in 2020 as we did during the Blitz. The next time there is a pandemic (5 to 10 years is the general estimate) we had better have shown we've learned something from this one.
