they were 1-0 down for most of the game and scored 3 late goals, Brighton had a player sent off and newport took advantage, a great win for them...
A note to dampen the entusiasm, Byron Anthony (ex-City player), had his leg broken in 2 places by an horrific tackle from Calderon, who was sent off. County equalised after that and went on to win the game well - in Anthony's honour I guess. I think Calderon has a history of reds and I hope the scumbag gets a lengthy ban for this. Anthony is probably out for the season. Great win by the County.
Knew there was a red but didn't know the reason. Explains why their game finished later than the rest (FT and ET). Bad news for Byron and for Newport. With the small squads some of the lower league sides carry they can ill afford to lose a player for lengthy periods. There are quite a few ex-Cardiff youth/accademy players out there plying their trade in the pyramid system.
Anthony did well in County's run in last season and earned himself a contract for this year. Just hope the injury is not career threatening. In fairness to Justin Edinburgh he has come out and said that he thought there was no malice in the tackle that caused the injury, just badly timed. That being the case I take back my comment on Calderon.

Personally and remembering playing them in the dark old days of the early to mid 80's, as far as i am concerned, i dont care how they do. Horrible people Horrible town. Stow hill on a friday night now there is a reallity check if you ever need one.
