Last Saturday saw the running of Australia's premier sprint, the Newmarket at Flemington, down the straight 6. It featured the 3 equally top rated sprinters in the world, Lankan Rupee, Terravista and Chautauqua. Most pundits expected to be a race in three, but some were pretty keen on the crack 3yo colt Brazen Beau, recently bought by Darley, secured for a rumoured 8 figure amount. Money talks. Such huge figures usually indicate ability. He was expected by his connections to take the fight to the big three. The winner will be seen at Royal Ascot in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes on June 20. The quality of the film isn't all that flash.

Beautiful looking horse Cyc (so are Lankan Rupee and Terravista). Can't wait for him to go to Ascot. I might make it there this year.

This is the race Black Caviar hosed up in off top weight a few years ago right? How were the weights in this race - I assume the 3YO was getting weight from the others - how much?

He would though get a weight allowance off them if it was a group race so he may well still prove the best of them in a non handicap race

I fancy he would still win then Ron, as it's only a sprint. Would be a lot closer though
