Who do we cheer for? Do we believe any of the two can go down? Newcastle with bags of potential (lots of injuries) but vulnerable when under pressure as we've seen in the past that they can go down. Or the eternal escape artist Wigan. Tipped for relegation every year but escape time and time again, much thanks to the excellent Martinez.

    Not sure myself.

    Well Norway
Has to be Newcastle to win for me. A loss tonight for Wigan and then to us will start their downfall

Good point Nuts. We don't want a Wigan full of confidence on Saturday. But then again we meet Newcastle soon too so maybe a draw might suit as it won't give any of them any answers and keep the uncertainty up.

Based on last season's form and table finish, we should probably be rooting for a Newcastle win to drag Wigan further into the relegation mire, but based on current Newcastle performances I wouldn't be surprised to see a Wigan victory this evening. Plan to watch a bit of this match when I get off work (only 4:00pm here in my time zone) - other games are so much more relaxing to watch compared to all the stress involved in ours!

Draw all the way. Keep the two of 'em down there.

An easy win but not too big for Newcastle and it would be the perfect w/e for us, well apart from us not winning.

Sitting on the fence eh Swords? I believe that Newcastle are the more likely of this pair of teams to improve as the season progresses, so would therefore prefer to see Wigan dragged down into the relegation mix with us.

Newcastles' form of late has been poor, they could go into freefall......would take a point each because we want to keep as many sides within touching reach as possible.

Wigan are one of four teams unbeaten after scoring the first goal...how ominous is that for us?

Penalty for Newcastle and a red card for Wigan.

Too harsh! I think a Newcastle win is best for us, because I really don't see them getting relegated with the talent in their team, and that support. But Wigan? Usually they have started very bad and make miraculous recoveries - perhaps (optimistically!) this season will be the other way round for them.

He certainly is and they should be knackered chasing the game for 80 mins with 10 men.

Ref in his right to make the call, and when he gives the pen the red card follows as he took away a clear goal scoring opportunity. But it doesn't hide the fact that it was harsh.

If it was against us I would be fuming!

Boussejour on a yellow and looking increasingly frustrated. Another red in the pipeline maybe...?? :)

Wham bam thank you ma'am > red card > penalty > 2 goals down with 10 men - Newcastle may have got lucky here.

If they give Wigan a good drubbing, perhaps they will be all softened up for us on the weekend.
