I think we will win 1-0 here. I really think that home support will be key here.

    Anzi's UEFA Cup Story 12/13
2QR: Honved (won 1-0 home, won 4-0 away)
3QR: Vitesse Arnhem (won 2-0 home, won 2-0 away)
PO: AZ Alkmaar (won 1-0 home, won 5-0 away)
GS: Udinese (won 2-0 home, drew 1-1 away)
GS: Young Boys (won 2-0 home, lost 1-3 away
GS: Liverpool (won 1-0 home, lost 0-1 away)
L32: Hannover (won 3-1 home, drew 1-1 away)
L16: Newcastle (drew 0-0 home, away result tbc)

    Betting
    Toon to win 1-0 - 6/1
    Toon win 2-1- 17/2
    Cisse FGS @ 1-0 is 25/1

Wish l could get up to Newcastle for this one, it has the potential to be a great night if the numbers and noise get behind the team and shout them through to the next round.
With a positive result from Stoke taking some of the pressure off in the league, this will hopefully be a big night, big win and huge confidence booster.
Also it couldn't be any colder than Stoke, could it? Absolutely frozen lol.

Don't think the guys will want to let themselves down after their great performance in the away game, they'll want to go all the way now.

Still trying to thaw out after the Stoke game. Joking, I'd just bought myself a new weatherproof jacket in the Club shop and I was as warm as toast.

We both enjoyed the game, but not the"drama" on the A1 getting home today.

Is everyone going to this game?
I'm stuck in Cheltenham entertaining so will not be there unfortunately.

Are you saying that Colo's a thief?

I'd like to see him being presented with it after a 1-0 win.

Lucky devil. I've had a good first day on the nags, I will let you know what I'm going for the rest of the week so you know which ones to avoid!

I'm hopeful for this one rather confident. I have a sneaky feeling they'll be even tougher at home. That pitch suited neither team. they have players with good technical ability and a gifted coach. I'll still go for a squeaky bum 1-0 to us but I wouldn't be surprised if the result was reversed. Good team.

Steve Harper celebrates his 38th birthday on the day of the match.

Wonder if he'll get a start and keep a clean sheet for us.

    Be quite good all round.

I'll be going for a 1-0 to us with Sissoko getting our goal.

Guys, just so you know, if we progress past Anzi, the derby game is pretty nailed on to be moved back.

We can do better than that.

We could have easily won it at their place if HBA hadn't missed that chance.

They will most likely sit back and attack on the break. Best thing we can do is score the first goal, and force then to come out of their comfort zone.

    2-0 win for me.

Harps will come on as an 89th minute sub to score the winning penalty!

    Everone's missed a trick here.

Why don't they play the Sunderland match at 10.15pm after the European tie at SJP.

That way there's a guaranteed full house, the Mackems that get in early will be able to tell their grandkids that they actually saw a live European game, we'll be a little bit tired even after a 15 minute rest so it could be a tighter game than anticipated......:emoticon-0136-giggl

Booked our tickets yesterday... Bit of a mistake, seeing as the ground is almost sold out already! There was one section above the platinum club, L4b, which when I added to basket online said they were free??? I wussed out of trying to get them and bought a couple of £10 tickets for the Leazes corner, where there was the most available seats.

I presume we could open the top tiers (partially) if we sell out before the game?

Looking forward to it, might be the last time we get European football for a while, so determined to enjoy it!

Got my regular seat for it. Got my ticket for the Wigan game at the same time, paid for my Man City ticket but will have that one posted out later.

Gittttttttttttt.... DT was heartbroken when I said I couldn't get ours (and slightly pissed because I was supposed to be booking the tickets earlier, my bad)... I assumed that it would be as sparsely populated as previous games up until kick-off, but alas!

Still, I've sat in many different places around the ground and I like sampling the various perspectives. Platinum club, East Stand, Lv7 singing section, top of the Milburn, Gallowgate and now Leazes corner low tier... Now to become rich and get myself a fancy box <cheers>

It'll be tough but we all know what happened the last time an unstoppable Russian force was confronted by an underdog........................
