Well this may be an interesting summer. Both clubs having much needed transfer funds to strengthen and prepare for another unpredictable season. Newcastle look to put together a younger squad with a reduced wage bill, Sunderland just need to fill the gap's and maybe reduce there ever present reliance on loan players.

With the major clubs fighting it out for British players, the North East needn't bother. Last season we were flag bearers for % of squad being English/British and could shed some, not having to worry about home grown related rules.

Newcastle look forward to having Ben Arfa and Gosling back. Whilst welcoming Cabaye to the club. New's reports are implying the Demba Ba has come to an agreement with the toon, subject to a medical.

Sunderland wave goodbye to the their multiple loan players, however, secure Al-Mohammadi. For some strange reason still have the poor Riveros hanging around. So plan for the summer? Try to bring in 3 Man Utd reserves and 30 year old Crouch. Gyan linked away and a 90% wage to turnover ratio without any signings.

Looking forward to this season! :emoticon-0109-kiss:

I'd imagine that Sunderland will buy a few good players soon enough. If this really is all they're going to do then there would probably be a fan backlash.

A few good players? They should be selling first! They are losing more money every season then we were when we got relegated. No way to run a club.

    You missed me? ♥

Good good> Moved to the sticks, got married and a dog. Went down the Derwent walk with the pooch this morning and there were people at the Kite spotting point. I felt like telling them, you'll never seen the big bird here when they all hang out at the council estate in Highfield, more rubbish to eat XD

Haha I will follow them this season :)
I don't know if you've heard of this book but I think it's all about the history of eastern european football - haven't read it myself but heard it's good and I have read another of his books which was really good (inverting the pyramid) - just if you're interested :)
