Surprised to see Newcastle have only got the top tier for our match next week, I would have thought with them so desperate for points they'd have taken the whole School End...

Maybe the Metropolitan Gestapo won't let them because they don't have enough officers to go round Shepherd's Bush demanding to see all the Geordies' papers if they give them the whole stand? (see the ticketing arrangements if Palace and Brighton meet in the playoffs)

Its not been a problem before and is there anything else going on in London that would keep the rozzers busy?

It is a long trip on a Sunday, especially if there is maintenance work on the railway lines disrupting the few trains home that they could catch.

Of course, our wonderful railway system, so not fit for purpose...

A sign of the times. Would have been unthinkable a few years ago for a meaningless game, let alone such an important one. Football fans are sick of clubs taking the piss on top of extortionate travel.

Thats why Im giving up my ST, it doesnt matter if they drop a tenner off each game because I still have to pay the rip off train prices and virtually every sunday game means disruption for me as well.

Id love for the football clubs and rail companies to get together and have a fan card thats valid for match days only that means cheap rail prices, its such a sensible idea that it will never happen.

We always fill our section at away games, but our owner doesn't always buy a full section because he's a fat ****er.

They took a load to WHU so it looks to be a poor decision. I dont think we will sell out, there was lots of spare seats today with people who couldnt be arsed to turn up.

Police have decided that they need to know the names of every fan who buys a ticket and specifically which seat they will be sat in. - this isn't the club recording it in case something happens, it will be given to the police before the game. Anybody who is found in possession of somebody else's tickets will receive a banning order lasting a year, as will the person who was supposed to be in possession of the ticket. One issue here is exiled fans. If it were City involved I'd want one of my Hull based friends to buy my ticket for me (using my details would be fine) and would meet them at the ground, rather than relying on them arriving in the post. If the police decided to stop them on the way to the ground though we'd both get banned for a year.

Additionally, and this is where the comparison with Gestapo tactics comes in ("Papiere bitte"), all travelling fans have to carry identification documents around with them so that the police can randomly stop and ask them to produce the documents. Failure to produce either a match ticket or identification papers at the ground, or on the way to or from the ground will result in you being banned from buying tickets to any more games this season, and they've not even said what will be accepted as ID. For starters, what do a group of 15 year olds going to the game do if one of them doesn't have a passport?
