    Sure the title should be:

Newcastle still ponder consequences of Ashley management – opposition focus

    A good read.

That was a brilliant read, looking forward to coming down for the game now.

You have got through the rough patch of a bad owner(lets just hope this one doesn't **** about for your sake) but we can't shake ours. I fear we'll have to deal with him for a very long time, and whilst he is here, don't expect to see NUFC in the top 10.

Good Read. Ashley has made a bit of a **** of it however some people take it to extremes. We are doing well this season so far, lets hope he doesn't have yet another minor roadblock up his sleeve. As for Fernandes,if I were a QPR fan there is something about Fernandes that I don't trust. I can't quite put my finger on what it is but he come across as a bit of a conman and again like Ashley he has conflicting interests with other companies which can prove problematic.

As said by the Newcastle fan in that article, this I believe is our biggest test.

Looking at the situation, we should have beaten Arsenal, yet we didn't even try. It may look like a good result in the long run but they were there for the taking. We were very poor that day. We got a good win against Sunderland with another solid defensive display and we created more chances, happy with that one away from home. The Fulham game is a tough one. It took 42 minutes to wake up. It was a shocking display first half to be fair, Fulham looked decent. Second half we got an early goal, but Krul had to make some fantastic saves and if the game was a draw I don't think we could have complained.

I do think we need to sharpen things up a bit and teach Leon Best the offside rule. We need to be slightly quicker, but the next 3 games will make or break us I think.

Disagree with Best and the offside rule, against Arsenal last season and scunthorpe this season he has wrongfully been given offside and the goalss ruled out. Unlike strolla who just stands there waiting for things to happen and falls over when it does!!

I lost count how many times he was offside in the Fulham game. I just remember standing up and abusing the ****er because of it.

<laugh> Whether he get's caught off it puts doubts in the oppositions defences minds or they get lazy and think he's offside and then won't be. Cuts both ways.
His second goal was well worked against Fulham.

I agree his second goal was well taken. Shouldn't have let the keeper get a touch though <whistle>

Great read, great insight and very well written! Its nice to actually see something from opposition fans which doesn't label us with 'the D word' or suggest that we're simply waiting for Shearer to come back!

For me, this game is far less indicative of where we are as a team as others are saying. Quite simply we're not the team we could be yet - our star player (or at least, the player who'm the whole team is being built around) Ben Arfa isn't fit yet. BUT more importantly, you've just had one of the busiest transfer windows in the Premiership, these new signings could be on fire and impress on their debuts (as is often the case) or flounder, struck down with poor communication and a lack of understanding with their new team mates (again equally often the case).

I personally think the reverse fixture could and will give a stronger insight into where we both are as clubs and squads.

Besty does need some offside training. You like them to be on the shoulder and their job will see them offside sometimes but Besty takes the piss a bit. He is offside a lot and his game will improve again if he can sort it out.
