    Morning all,

Noticed last night on Twitter that Newcastle Ladies are playing Oxford United ladies in the Women's FA Cup at the Kassam Stadium on the 24th February.

Does anyone follow the women's game at all?

I live 5 minutes from the Kassam Stadium so i think i might go to the game as i have interest in both teams as i'm a Newcastle supporter but have friends who play for Oxford Ladies

Although I watch many non-league games over the season / seasons
I can say hand on heart that I've never watched a womans game of football
I don't think the wife would be to pleased <whistle>

Vaguely remember seeing one many moons ago when they all ran around like lost sheep.

I have heard there are some good players though and as more and more women start coming to the matches they'll no doubt take an interest in playing the game too.

I am somewhat embarrased to say that, while I have watched many of my daughter's matches up til she left for uni, I have never seen a proper women's match. I would plead somewhat in my defence that I have never heard of a women's Newcastle fixture before, though no doubt I could have found out if I'd tried.

I've noticed a lot of guys are bringing their young daughters to the games now when seats are available. Some of them must be pre school age too.

Probably get a hold of them and they'll become addicts.

My step-dad coached Newcastle Ladies a year or two ago, wouldn't let me be the sponge carrier tho! :( They don't do too bad considering they get no money of the men's team at all. Arsenal, Birmingham, Sunderland and Birmingham all are and are streets ahead of the rest. Always try catching the England games when they're on tv.
