Would love to see them fail, after all the money they have spent, big club yes,but hey you have to earn the right to play in the prem. crowds don't give you that right Open letter of apology to fans of 23 Championship clubs for Newcastle not being rubbish Newcastle fans apologise to the rest of the Championship for Newcastle United cheating this season. please log in to view this image letting Rafa choose the transfers in and out, buying players that are needed, rather than continuing to allow the likes of Wise, Kinnear, Charnley and Carr to chase the ‘dream’ of buying bargain £XXm French wingers in the hope of them turning out to be future £130m superstars. We, the Newcastle supporters, must also admit our guilt when it comes to blindly backing our team. Disgracefully buying more season tickets before a ball was kicked this season, than NUFC sold in the Premier League last year, going on to average over fifty thousand at St James Park and set to have more fans watch Newcastle United at home than all but five or six other clubs in Europe this season. On the subject of support, Newcastle fans can only apologise for buying up every single away ticket to support their team, whilst at the same time giving your club its biggest crowd of the season and largest payday. We accept that our normal place in the scheme of things is for our club to give everybody else in football a good laugh, though on that front, at least Sunderland have stepped up bravely to take up the mantle. So Championship fans of the other 23, we the Newcastle supporters can only thank you for the experience so far and hopefully we won’t be hanging around too much longer with our annoying cheating ways. Here’s to another six months of winding you up further. With love. A Newcastle Fan
Nice to see how magnanimous this "fan" can be with the tens of millions of pounds of parachute payments behind them for being a ****e premiership team!! I had a lot of respect for them until now, but, hey-ho, they'll probably be back in 18 months time!!
I don't mind Geordies, let them live their dream, at least they are not a bunch of pretentious Pirates like the blue bunch at Buffalo Bill's circus..
unfortunately they have been our biggest crowd playing Brighton on another day could well have been our biggest!
Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool and London are the hotbeds of English football. That is why they are the way they are. When you consider the past great players who have come from the north east, or from Newcastle United in particular, it is a reminder that they are a special case. That is not so much about money, and more to do with culture.
While they look like they are going up (and they should do with that budget) it's not over yet Are Leeds a bigger club than Newcastle - now there's a discussion!
the "bigger" for any club needs a definition to be based from .. history ?? crowds ?? money ?? worth ?? support ?? position ??
Leeds are bigger, but only in terms of what they've won since I've been following football - 1968 Newcastle certainly get bigger gates...!
They're 'big' in different ways. Leeds for their dominance on the pitch, particularly the 70's. Newcastle for their 50,000 fans who'd turn up just to watch the grass grow.
strange he had nothing to say last season, and were"nt newcastle getting crowds of 10.000 till keegan arrived?
they get them now because all the sat afternoon shifts have stopped because the shift work industries up there have closed ..and nothing much else to do except watch football
I suppose they could all go to the pub and sing the song! every Sat afternoon do they still have the races? thought they were long gone ...like most other things
Had some low ones but about 20000 was normal double what City got. lot of big clubs had lot lower gates then like Chelsea Man City West Ham. Citys gates haven't shifted so much up or down.
